Re: Hulk vs Wolverine -Animated ---> January 2009

Hulk vs Thor starts out really well but than loses some steam by the end. Hulk vs Wolverine works much better with the added villains. It is also very violent for an animated Marvel toon. I just wish the animation was a little better or more stylized. It feels very generic.

Gorgeous animation, great character designs. The Wolverine one pushed the rating a lot more than I thought it would. By far my favorite animated Marvel anything (series or movie) to this point.

Re: Hulk vs Wolverine -Animated ---> January 2009

I liked this much better than the Ultimate Avengers titles, or even the Iron Man and Doctor Strange animated movies. It was very fun, and left me wanting more.

Were these Vs. stories adapted straight from comic books? I know the answer probably lies elsewhere on the net or even in the thread (haven't read through it all yet) but I just waned to ask so I could add that if it was (or even if it wasn't) this really made me want to see Marvel take more time to adapt some of their best comic book stories to animation. And also not cut anything out (like they did in the Ultimate Avengers movies, which were horribly truncated from the comic books themselves) and to keep the art style in the same style as the original artist. That should be fairly easy to do with computer animation and such. How cool would it be to see some of Jack Kirby's greatest tales in comics put to film in animation in his great style? Just for an example.

well the Hulk vs. Wolverine is an adaptation of Wolverine's first appearance, which was in a Hulk comic. Not too sure about the Thor one...

There was an awesome Hulk/Thor battle back in Thor #385. If the dvd is even half as good as that, I will have to pick this up.

Watched the Hulk VS Wolverine . . . Looked great to me. Sort of think the characters should have been reversed in the title, though. Guess it's a way to remind people a bit about Wolverine again before his movie. And I really expected it to be at least 45 min.

Will watch Thor next.

Yeah...can't wait to see what Deadpool is like in the Wolverine film..cuz Reynolds is 100% Deadpool just from what I see from his personality...I wonder who he pisses off first?

I figure I ask....I'm picking up the 2-disc version, but I would really like the lenticular cover from the 1-disc. I know some of you guys don't care about the slipcover or even the lenticular covers, but before you toss it out could you PM me and let me know if I could have it or how much you want for it. Thanks.

Re: Hulk vs Wolverine -Animated ---> January 2009

I def. liked the Wolverine one better. And I liked this DVD best of all the ones that have come out so far (Avengers, Iron Man, etc.). I was surprised at how violent it was but I liked that and really wish they'd just go further and make it more adult. I felt like this was closest to reading one of the comics they've come so far.

I enjoyed both, but I think I like the vs Thor a bit better... I just thought they did a really good job of capturing how I would see the characters, especially Loki.

Re: Hulk vs Wolverine -Animated ---> January 2009

Just watched the thor one. Thought it was ok but liked the wolverine one better. I liked Deadpool and the Hulks dialog. Ugly lady scratch hulk rrrrrrrrrh. Hey is head still unbreakable? BAM. Damn.

I'm not really into thor. I know the current run is said to be amongst the best there is though. I don't really have a feel for any the characters. Wolverine on the other hand was just how I pictured him. Also Deadpool was perfectly done also. One of my favorite moments was when wolverine said I have two things to say to you. Snickt, Snickt.

Note there is a scene after the credits for the wolverine one.

Ditto on that. I have never read much Thor, so maybe that's why I was into it a little more.
