How often do you view the same dvd ?
I try to keep it at least 90 days inbetween viewings. It's easy to get burnt out from watching the same thing over and over again. I was going to start watching season 5 of Mission Impossible but since I watched season 4 during July-I will wait another month.

I dunno man, I'm like a buying spree kind of guy. I just bought The Ultimate Superman Collection, The Thing, and Blade 1 and 2. I just watched The Thing, and again with the hilarious and informative commentary. I'll probably watch it again in a couple of days...and I'll burn it out for a bit. And I'll later get another shipment of DVDs from amazon...do the same thing. But I try to watch a different thing everyday. And considering how fun it is i might watch a bunch in a month..but my collection is hitting 300 so...I could watch a single film again in 3-4 months based on the fact that I watch more than one film a day whenever possible.

minimum 3-5 years before i get to the same viewing again. i mean i can't get to 1st viewings, how'm i gonna get to a 2nd :)
I like to wait 2 - 3 years between viewings.
if the movies good i view it like 2 or 3 times i dont wait that long to see em again

Since I have a daughter she like to watch the same movie once a day and she drags me to watch with her and it seems more enjoyable that way. I have to have a new movie for her to get her off the same movie but she eventually stops watching it for a while.
In my case I watch a movie once from beginning to end than the second time I watch the film I skip to the favorite scene, I watch the same film 2 times on release date and then I forget about the movie for a while since new movies keep coming out. |
I'm somebody that if I really enjoy a film I can be in the mood for it again only a few weeks later. If I really enjoyed it and I'm hanging out with somebody that hasn't seen it I can be in the mood for it again just to enjoy their reaction. My unwatched pile gets higher and higher, but if the mood strikes there's a handful of titles that rarely go longer than 6 months between viewings.
Not as often as I'd like. Mostly because I buy lots of new films (as everyone here does) so I like to get to those as soon as I can.
Depends on the movie obviously. Most of the movies, never again.
At this point I don't recall the last time I actually re-watched anything. Between the new stuff coming out (although that's getting kind of slim these days), the rentals, all the stuff I'm trying to catch up on, new shows on Tivo/cable, and occasionally video games (not to mention work, life -ptth-) who has time to watch something you've already seen.
Depends on the emotional weight of the film. If it's just a rollercoaster ride, like Star Wars or Raiders, I'll watch it over & over. If it moves me in some way, like It's a Wonderful Life, I'll only watch it once a year, to preserve the emotional impact. Episodes of MASH or Xena I'll rerun over & over.
I watch my favorites 2-3 times a year or when they are appropriate, say with holiday films. That's about 100 or so films. There's another 200-300 that I come back to again and again, almost once a year. The rest once every 2-3 years.

There are some movies I watch at least once a month. These are my favourites, obviously. Others I view once and that's it. Others I watch on special occasions or put on when I am doing an activity that I want the TV on for, but that doesn't require focus or attention (TV shows that I've seen before so many times that I can just visualize based on the sound are good for this purpose).
I have Pulp Fiction, True Romance, Leon, Boogie Nights, and There Will Be Blood on monthly rotations. My favourite movies I can watch anytime, anywhere.
Once, to be honest. The number of DVDs (and movies in general) that I've seen more than a single time is less than ten, as I'd always rather see something that I never have before. Can't figure out why I've been buying DVDs all these years... :)
More for television shows for myself, love the replay value and giving me a smile or a laugh. Usually MASH, Seinfeld, Futurama to name a few.
I used to watch "Army of Darkness" at least once a week for a very long time (since I got the tape back in the 90s and then on dvd till about 2 years ago).
I watched The Matrix 74 times in a row once. When I buy a new dvd I generally go back the next day to check out the commentary track and if there's more then one I'll watch as many times as I have to. |

I find myself wanting to watch a dvd a second time, far more often than I actually get around to.
For me it really depends on the movie, but mostly I only watch a movie once a year, sometimes longer between viewings. I watch all of my holiday oriented movies during that season (Halloween, Christmas, Thanksgiving - (Planes, Trains, and Automobiles anyone?) Others that don't really fit into a seasonal category I watch about once every 2 or 3 years.
I wait at least a week in between the watches but if it's a movie I don't really care for then its about 3 months or more
I don't base my viewings on if I have watched it recently. If I am in the mood to watch it I watch it. On that note I rewatch all current seasons of the Shield at least 3 times a year, just cause that show is so badass.
Depends on the type of movies. Comedies tend to get much more viewings for me. I watch Anchorman about 1-2 times a month...
I re-watch my tv dvd's all time, enough so that I've had to replace discs. I've watched Burn Notice Season 1 at least 3 times since it's come out.
I don't have any rhyme or reason on what DVD's I watch. Just whatever title strikes me at that moment is the one I 'll choose to watch that's all.
