If it's reasonably priced (under $10) with an actor/actress I like, then I will consider a blind buy.

After my last full price blind buy "Wild Things 2", which sucked even though Susan Ward was smoking hot in it, I will pretty much only rent stuff that I have never seen.

I voted for I am a fan of the Director, but I would have selected "It looks good" because that is the main reason I blind buy most of the time.

Seems like there should be another option: a combination of the above. I do make quite a few blind-buys, but I wouldn't say any one particular factor is the reason for purchasing.
