CSI Season 8 - edited episodes?!
http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/news/CSI...-Box-Art/10400
Below the "Dolby Digital" logo, it reads "Some episodes may be edited from their original network versions". I've never seen a CSI (any of the 3 series) dvd set contain edited episodes. So why start now? I thought the "edited" phenomenon was primarily used on older TV shows that are now coming out. This blows.

For CSI not to have intact music is very odd, as they've been completely successful about preserving what you see and hear broadcasted each week for DVD release.
Perhaps it's extended episodes instead of music changes?

CBS/Paramount seems to have those warnings on almost everything they release these days. Some items turn out to be heavily changed, like all the music ripped out of the most recent release of The Fugitive. Other releases have "expert fans" going over the disc content with a fine tooth comb and not finding a single edit or music change, like with I Love Lucy.
Most will fall somewhere in between, of course...usually with mostly minor changes (but not always). You really can't tell what is going to be the case for a given particular title, until the reviews start to come in.
And I can't get an answer out of the studio if I ask for a list of changes in advance. I don't think my studio contacts in the publicity dept. would know anyway, and they don't seem to want to go research it with the people putting the DVDs together.

It's probably just a Cover-Your-Ass disclaimer. I've read that most modern TV shows produced during the DVD age have specifics in the contracts for music, etc. that include release on DVD. If somebody else knows more about this, then I'd be interested in more reliable and correct info, myself.
