Ok, I just got back from Wal-Mart and Blockbuster. The Wal-Mart lenticular cover is a must-have if you already own the other 3 lenticular covers. As for Blockbuster, they are actually giving you the other 3 lenticular covers with the 2-disc version, but you don't get the Crystal Skull lenticular cover.
Thanks

Even though I don't have a BR player yet (prob. next week), I went ahead and got the Target exclusive. That packaging was just too sweet! Plus, I heard the BR looks much better than the soft SD.

Yes, the Blockbuster 2-disc version comes with the lenticular covers for Raiders, Temple of Doom, and Last Crusader. But NOT for Crystal Skull.
Yes, they are the same covers from Wal-Mart. They are shrink wrapped on to the 2-disc dvd. You don't get 3 extra slipcovers, just the lenticular cards that would normally be glued on to the slipcovers.

So I had never seen the new Indiana Jones, I heard it wasn't that great, and though I had intended on seeing it in the theater at some point, I just never got around to it. So on Sunday night I pre-ordered it from Best Buy with an IN-STORE PICKUP. Well when I went to pick it up from the IN-STORE line, my dvd was not there. They forgot to pull it. It took almost 7 minutes for them to get it for me so the "if you don't have it in your hands within 1 minute, you get $10 off" kicked in. That's cool. Not the first time it's happened to me. I opted for the $14.99 single disc so suddenly Indy was mine for just $4.99! I was excited, I came home like a giddy school boy and popped the dvd in with my wife .... all I have to say is .... we want our $5 back !!!
What a terrible, terrible film! I'm going to pretend this movie never happened. I love Indy, but this movie was just crap. This is what we waited all these years for? Years went by and George kept saying he didn't want to put out crap just to put it out there. He wanted to put out something great, so they waited and waited until all 3 could agree on something good. This was it???? I had no problem with the storyline, though it was initially difficult to picture Indy in the 50's but the writing was just terrible! I lowered my expectations because of all the crappy reviews and still it sucked beyond belief! Soooooooooooooo disappointing!
Man, I am going to bed! I can't believe I stayed up for this crap!

A TRUE Indiana Jones fan will appreciate this movie. As I watched it again this week there were a few moments that really hit me - mainly the moment when Indiana boards the train, takes a sorrowful look back at the past he's about to leave - the look on Ford's face and the mournful presentation of Indy's theme really made me appreciate the movie on a whole deeper level.
And despite the doomsday part, that 21 minute opening sequence is pretty much top-notch.

I consider myself a "true fan" of Indiana Jones. I saw every movie in the theater, sometimes multiple times, but I did not like Crystal Skull. It's just my opinion and that's it. I do like it more since I saw it a second time, but to me it's just not that great.

As, I'm not the owner of a whip, a leather jacket or a silly hat, I would have to maybe agree with this quote. As a casual fan of the series, I found this movie to be boring, unneccessary, and and just generally a big letdown. Maybe Indy's solemn expression at the train station saved it for you, but it was pretty much the other 2 hours and 1 minute that did it in for me. Monkeys, gophers, snake-ropes and fridges were just a small part of the problem. The story was uninteresting and the acting was pretty atrocious. I don't know what all the supporters of this movie were seeing, but all I saw on Harrison Ford's face was boredom, routine, and age.

Bottom line for me... This movie freaking ROCKS! My wife and I loved every minute of it in the theater and we went out and purchased the Target exclusive 2-DVD version on Tuesday for $22.99 + tax (and worth every penny!). We will be enjoying it again this weekend.

Really on the fence about this myself. I was sorely disappointed in the theatre, but watching it now on DVD, it stings a bit less. I see it more as Indy older and a bit slower, which in a way alleviates the fact that there's plenty less Indy-focused action in this one. Really I missed the fistfights, pretty sorely lacking. Even if you watch the animatics on disc 2, the pre-vis jeep fight with Indy and all the Russians looked more in tune with the trilogy than the finished film did, that really sucked when I saw that.

The ants were fine, and the other three took up possibly one minute of screen time total.

You're right, this isn't the thread for movie discussion.

Guys, there's already a thread over in Movie Talk that discusses the merits (pro/con) of the movie. This thread is devoted to discussion of the DVD release.
Anyone pic up the Skull bust at Best Buy? Thoughts, pics (of the bust outside the box)?

But I digress, back to the DVD. I still haven't picked this up I'll might go tomorrow and see which version I want.
As for the skull statue its going to be about 4-5 inches tall but well made and finely detailed if sideshows previous reputation applies. People say it's too small but I think it's perfect as I wouldn't want a full size head. The iron man one was quite nice and actually even better out of the package as they got the paint exactly right with a nice car like luster. I would expect similar quality on this one. I just don't think i would really want a crystal skull for my collection. And the iron man dvd was wrapped separately so this one will probably as well so good for gift giving.

No, it is not new. They've had this policy for quite some time. I believe it was instated when they really started pushing "In Store Pick-Up" as an option. They've actually given me the $10.00 off, on three different occasions. Once, they had pulled the stuff I ordered, but, the lady couldn't find it. It took her about 10 minutes to find the order, which she found buried under some returns. In fact, she was not only so apologetic about it, but, on top of giving me $10.00 off my pick-up, but, she also gave me a $10.00 Best Buy Gift Card. The other two times, it was because they simply failed to pull my order. The great thing is, on each occasion, I didn't even have to mention the policy. They just gave it to me, for my inconvenience. It's a nice little policy.
