The Sopranos Complete Set Announced 11/11/08
Didn't see this posted elsewhere, so I figured I should inform the good people of DvdTalk of it. Looks like the set is similiar to the Six Feet Under Box Set with the inclusion of the soundtracks. Nevertheless, I am keeping my single releases; I'll be content once I finally purchase S6 P2 if I see it for $30 or cheaper. Anyway here's the link to the article.

EDIT: Gah! It has been posted! I'm sorry, but I wasn't sure how to delete the thread and keep the other. Gotta go to bed earlier or something I guess...

Yeah, I was skimming that one and saw that the new set has apparently re-mastered versions too. Figures, I spend fifty a pop and yet still get ripped off. I hate this new trend of double dipping permeating television now. Guess the avid dvd collectors already bought all the catalogue titles they've wanted and studios now need to screw the consumer in a new way.

Unless the new set has a substantial (and I mean a lot) number of deleted scenes, new cast commentaries, interviews, etc., I'm driving by this release. How much is this puppy retailing for?

Re-mastered versions. Yeah, ok. Just give me the Older Out-of-date Shitty N Gritty Editions at $19.99 a piece, thanks. I'll call it good. No way in hell I'm paying $400. I'd expect at least a free pass by a boss to wack somebody for that price.

Season 1 and Season 6 were released on Blu-ray.
Is there plans for a blu-ray box set?
Also I was hoping maybe Directv 101 repeats the shows in the future since they are showing the Wire.

I notice there are two sets on WBShop with a wide price gap. The nice version has the soundtracks and a coffee table book? Or just the soundtracks? I can live with a "complete series" minus soundtracks for less money; I'd never listen to them.

The cheaper set is $155 at Amazon with 30 discs and a 16 page booklet with the episode guide.

I won't buy this until there's a complete Blu-ray set. They released one for "Deadwood," so I'd say they've got to do one for "The Sopranos."
