Richard Burton + Criterion = Sold.

I've never seen this, but I've wanted to for a long time. Blind buy.

This is a nice surprise.

Fantastic film. And the current Paramount DVD sucks.

Why do you say that? I haven't sat down to watch it since I bought it, but the rental I watched on my old pj looked fine. Or is that directed more towards its bare bones nature? Personally, I'm just fine with a bare bones release with solid A/V for under $10 (and this was avail at Wal-Marts for around $5 within the last 12 months).
I agree with you in that its a fantastic film. One of the absolute best 'real' spy films I've ever seen. But I wish Criterion would concentrate more on releasing titles that Paramount hasn't, rather than just given fancier editions to the ones they have.

If I'm going to double dip in 2008 and beyond, it's going to be for a Bd, not for a few special features on another sd.
