I simply don't buy any anime off ebay. The only places I buy anime are retail stores/etailers, used discs from wherehouse.com. Any rare ebay type title I have to see a photo of, and an assurance that is is a R1 copy. Even then it's gotta be a pretty good deal.

It's pretty simple. "Imports" are all pirated copies. Period. Any Japanese discs are likely highly expensive as anime costs more in general over there. The chances of stumbling across a real import in America is pretty dang rare.

The only bootleg I have is a 4-CD soundtrack for Cowboy Bebop. I raised an eyebrow when I bought it - at the largest anime store on the eastern half of the U.S. (according to them). I'm sure they bought quantities from an "importer". Either they were fooled or didn't care.

I'd replace it if they would release it here in the US legit. Even the import is apparently OOP.
