Here's big news today: Sony has just officially announced it's new Casino Royale: Collector's Edition for release on 10/21 on DVD (SRP $29.95) and Blu-ray (SRP $38.96)! Again, this is the 2006 film starring Daniel Craig. The DVD will be a 3-disc set. We've reported much of this previously, but here's the official updated version of the spec list: The DVD will include audio commentary with members of the crew, 8 documentaries (Ian Fleming's Incredible Creation, The Road to Casino Royale, James Bond in the Bahamas, Ian Fleming: The Secret Road to Paradise, Death in Venice, Becoming Bond, James Bond: For Real and Bond Girls are Forever), The Art of Freerunning featurette, 6 filmmaker profiles (Martin Campbell, Director, Chris Corbould, Special Effects, Phil Meheux, Director of Photography, Gary Powell, Stunt Coordinator, Alexander Witt, Second Unit Director and David Arnold, Composer), 4 deleted/extended scenes (Rescue & Recovery, Squandering Government Funds, Cricket Pavilion and Gettler Raises Bond's Suspicions), the Freerunning Chase storyboard sequence, the Catching a Plane: From Storyboard to Screen scene deconstruction, and Chris Cornell's You Know My Name music video. To all this, the Blu-ray Disc will add an exclusive Bonus View Picture-in-Picture visual commentary with Director Martin Campbell and Producer Michael G. Wilson, and Know Your Double-O BD-Live interactive trivia game.

Back Cover art:
I kinda wish they would have made this just a two disk set with just disks 1 and 3. Oh well looks like my original 2-disk CR is now pretty worthless.

Looks nice, but if it's not the uncut version I really don't see the need to upgrade.
Quick side note: it really sucks having 21 matching Bond films on DVD and then this thing. I wish they stayed consistent with the packaging sometimes.

I suppose I'll get the 3-discer and keep my earlier one, because I bought the set at Wal-Mart with the poker "set" (2 decks and one poker chip). It would bother me to keep everything but the actual DVD from that set.

Well, from my understanding, MGM will have the DVD distribution for QoS, so you may see a change yet again. As well as for any future Bonds because the film rights revert back to MGM.

I passed on the first DVD, but I'll be buying this. Circuit City's sale price is pretty low ($15). Throw in the free ticket to the new Bond movie and I essentially see it as paying about $6 for this set.
And I can finally get the Rifftrax for this movie.

I stopped in CC at around 10:30am and they said they were almost sold out already and only had 3 copies left. I'm sure they're all gone by now.
