See I ask in a Best Buy here or in my hometown they know what I'm asking about, if not they ask questions that will help them help me. Circuit City personally has shitty customer service and horrible layout for their DVDs. Target is cool too. I don't know if we have an FYE here in Texas but I never heard of it till I came to DVD Talk.

Took the Circuit City ad and PM'd it at Best Buy for $14.99. I also had a $5 RZ certificate so I only ended up paying $10.81 after tax. Not bad at all.

One thing that really puzzled me was the cashier kept staring at the ad really really hard. She kept doing back and forth comparisons of the DVD and Ad to see if they matched. I was like Jesus Christ, it says 3-disc and the cover matches, what else do you need?

Did anyone else's copy have slight rubbing off of the velvet coating? The edges on mine are a bit frayed if thats even the correct word and some tiny spots are missing the coating. It's nothing big but it sorta bothers me and I kinda think it's silly to return it for another copy for that sole reason. :/

That happened up near the corners on mine. I'm trying not to let it bother me, though. It is a really nice package except for that minor nitpick.

I was able to find a copy at Circuit City, but it took me a while to find it in the store. For some reason it was on the shelf with the regular DVDs instead of in the new release section or with the James Bond displays. Chalk up another victory to Circuit City's crumminess.

Anyway, for $15 this is a bargain... I would have got it even without the ticket voucher. I'm glad I never got the 2-disc version and waited for this. I love the packaging, and the booklet is nice too. The only thing I would have liked to see is a disc-by-disc summary of special features listed in the booklet (simply repeating what is on the paper on the back would be fine). DVDs used to do that back when they had chapter stops printed as well. Oh well, this is just nitpicking... the package is fantastic regardless.

Yeah, it would be major nitpicking so Im gunna let it slide. The old me from 5 years ago would have gone back and gotten another copy but it doesnt seem worth it now. I almost did take it back because I couldnt find the free eMovie ticket inside. I felt like a damdass for not carefully reading the sticker!

If there is a Best Buy near you with a Magnolia Center inside, talk to them about their demo for a $10.00 Blu-ray coupon. It is good for ANY blu-ray movie, so you can get Casino Royale for $15.99 (through Saturday). If you can sweet talk them, they might give you a few coupons, and they are good 'til 11/01/08. I also agree the blu-ray packaging looks weak compared to the sd case, but I guess it's blu-ray, so they felt it didn't need it.

For what it's worth, the Blu-ray's slipcover has that velvety feel.

No, that's not worth much.

I just got the Hong Kong 3 disc set, and the runtime is the same as the previous region 3 uncut release, 144 min 25 seconds, but I haven't checked to see side by side if it's the same cut or not.

How long is the region 1 release?

Four years later and I finally cracked this set open last night. (It really does feel swanky to the touch.) Glad it wasn't defective since I'd be hard pressed to get a refund/exchange from Circuit City.

Never did get the Rifftrax, but will soon. And maybe I'll listen to it sometime within the next four years.
