My only triple dip is The Ten Commandments (1956):-

(1) Original two disc with no extras bar a few trailers
(2) Later two disc with the commentary and making of documentary
(3) Three disc with the silent version

I love the film and I have no regrets.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre ('74) - 45 editions
Saw I, II, III & IV - 60 editions

And about a dozen of others which I double dipped on.

Star Wars - OT (VHS, non-special edition, full screen)
Star Wars - OT (VHS, special edition, widescreen)
Star Wars - OT (DVD box set w/ bonus 4th disc)
Star Wars - OT (DVD Best Buy tin set w/ non-special edition films as 2nd discs)

Jaws 20th Anniversary VHS
Jaws 25th Anniversary DVD
Jaws 30th Anniversary DVD w/ booklet.
(I see a pattern with this...)

And many other double dips.

Donnie Darko, I think:

- VCD
- Vanilla R2
- Extras-laden R2
- Dir Cut single disc R2
- Dir Cut double disc R2

Pretty much always when I double/triple/whatever dip I pass on my earlier versions to someone else, assuming that version's become redundant.

Dazza.

Where's the famous pic? This thread wouldn't be the same without it.

Also, I'd be curious to know ... which film has the most editions worldwide? Evil Dead, TCM, Saw, Bambi!!????? 45 of one film is amazing, but can it be beat??

You know Visitor, that would be tough to try to know which has the most. I know Saw has around 45, Evil Dead has pretty many only on R1 (according to Xage's pics), I don't know how many more on other regions. And regarding TCM - I have 45, but I still lack about 10. And surely films that existed before DVD was even invented have higher chances to get more releases throughout these years than those made couple of years ago. I guess the ones you mentioned must be among winners, maybe some others like Terminator...
Here's the pic btw

I double dipped on a few titles, but I think the title that I'll be triple dipping will be Bourne Identity and Bourne Supremacy.

I had both films on DVD and double dipped to get the trilogy in HD DVD, but now that HD DVD is dead, I'll likely repurchase the trilogy in Blu-ray.

My girlfriend is going to think I'm nuts.

Forgot about those. I had the originals, bought the "file folder" collection prior to Ultimatum's release and then bought all three on HD. I think I'm keeping my HD stuff, so I don't have to worry about another dip on BD.

I've triple or quadruple dipped on some Jackie Chan movies, trying to get uncut version or anamorphic enhancement.

Well, after seeing the above post...wow, hard-core collector!

I will add T2 to my list - I haven't bought the BD version as yet, but it was one of the first 5 SDs, then I picked up either the Extreme or Ultimate Edition, then the Ultimate or Extreme Edition. I sold off the original, which I paid $35+tax at a local Best Buy.

So far a triple dip on T2, but I'll eventually pick up a later BD release.

Why would you own both the fullscreen and widescreen versions?
