Stargate Atlantis - Studio?
 

O.K. confused. On Amazon.ca a person posted that the Seasons were released by Fox Video and the newer releases of the seasons (at a lower price) are by MGM Video. I think Columbia/Tristar are mixed into this confusion as well.

Was this series switched over from one studio to another?

Is so, any difference in quality of the DVD releases?

Also, I noticed that Stargate SG-1 (complete series) is on sale. From the reviews it seems half the people had to return these due to terrible packaging (cracks, dirt, scratches, loose, etc..). Maybe this is why the sale price? Maybe a new box set is coming from MGM so they are being unloaded?

MGM still produces the show.

I think I can help with your confusion:

Season 1: Released by MGM through Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Sony temporarily had a deal that allowed them to take over releasing MGM titles.

Season 2-3: Released by MGM though FOX Home Entertainment. FOX took over releasing MGM titles from Sony after their deal fell apart.

I believe Season 4 will also get released through FOX Home Entertainment as well.
