"Student Bodies" DVD coming June 3?

From Movies Unlimited:

Now Accepting Advance Orders! - Available on 06/03/08
Scarier than "Porky's!" Funnier than "Friday the 13th!" You've never seen such wacky, bloody, zany, spooky fun as when a typical suburban high school becomes the stalking ground of the murderous "Breather" in this horror/comedy that blends the beloved 1980s genres of teen exploitation romp and slasher flick. Kristin Riter, Joe Flood and Richard Belzer (as Richard Brando) star. 86 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack: English.
Category: Comedy
Format: DVD (Widescreen) - ColorRated: RCatalog #: D54237

THEY’LL BE COMIN’ AROUND THE MOUNTAIN: We have to applaud Paramount, long one of the most disappointing major companies when it comes to opening their vault of catalog titles. Sure, they’ve had some winners: the John Wayne portfolio, Reds, foreign classics like 1900 and The Conformist, the Martin and Lewis sets, and Once Upon A Time In The West. Still, there’re so many appealing things in their library that have never seen the light of day on DVD, so that the company never ceased to confound film fans. However, they’ve now licensed a plethora of titles to another manufacturer, and movie buffs should be quite happy. It’s an eclectic mix of recent past and vintage, most never on DVD before (and some never on VHS, either!) and while there are no true extras, they will be issued in the proper ratio with good quality transfers.
I find this dubious to say the least. Of course if anyone can confirm Paramount is releasing this or has licensed it out to Anchor Bay, feel free to post.

Student Bodies? Wow, that takes me back to my video store clerk days and darn near wearing out the VHS copy we had in stock. Good times, good times . . . . .

Fingers crossed this turns out to be true.

Sweet. Written and directed by Mickey Rose, Woody Allen's early writing partner.

So many great lines from this movie that I still use in real life, and no one else gets.

"I'm gonna kill the kid with the gum!"

"One more for old time's sake."

"Did you hang up, or just go click?"

This is one of my favorite horror parodies. Good news (pending pricing and accuracy of course).
No Malvert, his keys, not his cheese.

There's a blank spot on my shelf, between the horse-head bookends, reserved for this movie

the Belz was in this? I didn't even notice him. I'm going to have to watch it again.

It would be great if this got an official release.

For some reason my favorite line is "I'll get it, I'm furthest from the phone!"

If he went under the name Richard Brando, that was the voice of "breather."

DVDDrive-in.com is reporting that "Legend Films" has licensed "Student Bodies" and a number of other Paramount "cult" classics.

How the hell is Legend going to colorize a film already in color? None the less, I'm glad someone is releasing it. a Rifftrax for Student Bodies would be awesome as well. Hopefully Legend can work that out with Mike Nelson.

You guys can all thank me, as I just transferred my VHS copy to DVD.

Edit: Wow, the same day I did Student Bodies, I also converted The Optomists and King of the Gypsies... all three of which were acquired by Legend Films!

Then how about converting these titles so maybe they'll be released on DVD?
Spring Break, Where The Boys Are '84, Chicken Chronicles and Delivery Boys?
Thanks!

Cover art from DVDdrive-in:

"Scream" blurb aside, glad to see they kept the poster art.

Well, it's not exactly the same, instead of having the title drawn on the board with chalk, it's a generic logo. I think the chalk looked better, but hey, it's coming out on DVD, so I'll shut up

Good call; I'd forgotten about the chalk.

Here's the original poster art:

Actually, I sort of like how they've streamlined and brightened up the artwork. The chalk is a neat effect, but all the writing on the board makes it a bit busy.
