it's still a work in progress.

let me know what you think.

eedoon 03-15-08 02:37 PM

uh... no

Yakuza Bengoshi 03-15-08 02:49 PM

Looks like you have a very wide ranging taste within a narrow stratum: contemporary, English-language, fictional entertainments.

domino harvey 03-15-08 02:56 PM

Don't tell me what to do

PopcornTreeCt 03-15-08 03:01 PM

Vince McMahon is one of your top 20 actors. mmm...

GreenVulture 03-15-08 03:21 PM

Not a bad collection at all. A few too many wrestling titles for my taste, but on the other hand you've got Knowing Me, Knowing You and I'm Alan Partridge, so it all evens out.

islandclaws 03-15-08 03:34 PM

Not bad. You got some good stuffs in there. Just a LOT too much wrestling, but I know it has a large fan base so I suppose it can be overlooked.

BullGooseLoony 03-15-08 04:25 PM

I think it's funny when people say stuff like "too much wrestling" in your collection. It's like saying "oh you like to laugh? Yeah, you have too much comedy." If you like or love wrestling, then you buy wrestling DVDs. It kinda makes sense.

They didn't make the rules, they're just playing the game...

Actually it includes films of several eras and origins including silent, Italian, French, and documentary works among others... not that I'd actually care about a stranger's DVD collection, of course. ;)

Let me know when you've worked up the percentages on each, or shall we just agree that it's overwhelmingly composed of fictional American material from the last three decades?

Nesbit 03-15-08 05:17 PM

Uhhh hello Robert, salutations.

9.6% made in 1978 or earlier. I suppose 90.4% does qualify as overwhelming. Congratulations.

There isn't a sort option for country of origin so I'll leave that one to you.

The Man with the Golden Doujinshi 03-15-08 05:55 PM

I've just about finished my list, only about a couple hundred more or so to add, but most of it's there.

http://misterpeepers.99k.org/index.html

I'm still working on adding pictures and a details page for each movie to make it look better.

cc21392 03-15-08 09:53 PM

btw pretty good collection

visitor Q 03-15-08 10:15 PM

1700+ DVDs ... yeah, there isn't enough time in the day. A+ :)

i'm very proud of my collection that fits within the narrow stratum of contemporary, English-language, fictional entertainments. i'm sorry my collection does not meet your film snob expectations. after browsing your collection, which by the way for the most part is awesome, you also have a lot of stuff that would put me to sleep.

That's an odd reaction. I'm not sure why you're sorry about your collection not meeting my "film snob expectations." First, I have no expectations, snobbish or otherwise, that pertain to your collection. Second, my response to your request was intended to be descriptive, not judgmental. Some people consider "wide ranging taste within a narrow stratum" to be the mark of a great collection in so much as it demonstrates a focused interest. For example, better, one might argue, to have every comic inked by Jack Kirby regardless of subject matter than a less-focused wider ranging collection from Richie Rich, to Watchmen, to Manga. *shrug*

The Man with the Golden Doujinshi 03-16-08 01:40 PM

Any feelings on mine Bengoshi?

Yakuza Bengoshi 03-16-08 01:57 PM

^There's a few things there that I really like, and few I'd really like to see, but for the most part your appreciation of various forms of film and television is much broader than mine.

Thanks for the feedback :)

I wouldn't mind these threads so much if there were pictures instead of lists. I love looking at other peoples collections, just not in list form.

The Bus 03-17-08 10:22 AM

Bengoshi, I find it offensive that you have such gems as Lost Season 2 and Old School rated equally to Species 2 and Fast and the Furious. Or above Grey Gardens.

Offensive? You sir, have extremely delicate sensibilities.

Or above Grey Gardens.
You mean below Grey Gardens which I thought was very good.
