Fantastic Four: The World's Greatest Heroes - The Complete First Season June 10, 2008

TVShowsonDVD now has a listing for Fantastic Four: The World's Greatest Heroes - The Complete First Season. The great thing is that they had previously announced that a 'Season 1' release would come in the form of the three previously released bundled together (which would only be 12 episodes total), but it will actually be all 26 episodes (only 15 of which have aired in the USA) and will include some special features as well.

Cool. I liked the show a lot, but thought those separate releases with like 6 eps were a stupid way to get the season.

It's about damn time!! Releasing them a few episodes at a time is a crock of shit!! I had no idea that they made that many episodes. More to watch!! Now if Warner would take a hint and release the complete first season of Legion of Super-Heroes, life would be grand!

Take care all!!

I got the Season 1 boxset yesterday and I have been watching a bunch of them. It's really a great Marvel show - it sort of reminds me of a mixture of the MTV Spiderman show and Aeon Flux, with its style of animation, action, music, and sexiness. It's a lot better than the 1990s Fantastic Four cartoon show.

The video and audio quality is excellent - anamorphic and DD 5.1

You gotta love the French - check out The Puppetmaster episode with scenes of Alicia Masters with huge nipples. Yes, keep your pause button ready. The Americans coudn't censor all of what the French animators threw in there!

So they are widescreen? Awesome! There were mixed reports as to what it was going to be.

For the record, it looks like any one interested in getting this will be best off getting it on release day from DD, assuming their price won't go up, the 20% off price will be 23.11

Is this the 1960's show, or something later?

Exactly what I plan on doing! It's a shame that this release hasn't got much advertising behind it.

As with most other older Marvel shows, don't expect it in the US anytime soon, but the UK will be getting the complete series (along with other 70s/80s/90s Marvel toons) soon.

Is there some legal reason?

Depending on who you talk to, either the rights are held up and nobody knows who has them, or else Disney has them and they are not doing anything with them because of issues with Marvel.

Here's the link to the press release It's the show that was on Cartoon Network from 2006-2007 (they only aired 15 of the 26 episodes)
