YOUTH WITHOUT YOUTH (F.F. Coppola!!!) (5/13/08)

In his first film in nearly a decade Francis Ford Coppola returns with this poorly received film which will be available to own on May 13, 2008. Features have not yet been announced...

"Francis Ford Coppola returns to the realm of his mastery with a film about growing young. Lightning strikes Dominic Matei (Tim Roth) so close to death that he ages backwards from 70 to 40 in a week, attracting the world and the Nazis. Now he's on the run with a new love for life, but with no hope of knowing his phenomenal fate."

Though largely dismissed by critics, I am still eager to check this out.

I'm looking forward to it as well. I thought the trailer was fascinating and the premise is very interesting and mysterious.

I was let down when I saw this in the theaters, but it is one of those movies that I probably need to see twice to make sure I didn't miss stuff. The movie is pretty dense with philosophy and sometimes meanders into being quite pretentious, but I'm willing to give it another shot on video.

from dvdactive:
"The film itself will be presented in 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen, along with an English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround track. Extras will include a commentary with Director Francis Ford Coppola, a Making of Youth Without Youth featurette, and a Music for Youth Without Youth featurette."

Wow. Didn't even realise this was released theatrically. Worth a rental at least.

Thats an accurate description IMO, except that it is pretentious the entire way through.
