the kingdom deluxe edition

i dont seem to find the jamie foxx collection anymore? this new set will include a deluxe edition of the kingdom.
does anyone know if this new 2disc set will eventually be released seperately as well??

Kory 03-03-08 08:36 PM

The "Deluxe Edition" which is a 2-disc was already released separately on release day as a Target exclusive. The way the ad for the Jamie Foxx Collection read, however, is that it would include an additional bonus disc, I believe, but I could be wrong. Your local Target may or may not have this Deluxe Edition left.

i started the thread and it has dissapeared/ was deleted for some apparent reason.

chris_sc77 03-03-08 09:30 PM

YEah I tried to add a comment to it to state it was indeed slated to be an 8 disk collection but it wouldn't let me access it. Strange....

Three threads that I started have dissapeared/were deleted. I already posted this on the feedback section.

Actually, no. What I posted on the previous thread that was deleted was:

Universal has set The Land Before Time: Through the Eyes of a Spiketail for DVD release on 5/13, with The Jamie Foxx Film Collection following on 6/3. The collection (SRP $39.98) will include the 2-disc version of Ray, an exclusive Ray bonus disc, the Miami Vice: Unrated Director's Edition, The Kingdom: Deluxe Edition, an exclusive bonus disc for The Kingdom, the Jarhead: Collector's Edition and an exclusive Jarhead bonus disc.

^Sounds like it will be a 10 disc set? -eek-

(2 discs) 2-Disc Ray
(1 disc) Exclusive Ray Bonus Disc
(1 disc) Miami Vice
(2 discs) Kingdom DE
(1 disc) Exclusive Kingdom bonus disc
(2 discs) Jarhead CE
(1 disc) Exclusive Jarhead bonus disc
---------
10

or it's 8 discs and all the exclusives are on 1 disc?
or it's 7 discs and all the exclusives are actually disc 2
...

If recall how the all came out originally it was:

Ray 1 disc & 2 disc
Miami Vice 1 disc (Theatrical & Unrated)
The Kingdom 1 disc & 2 disc Target exclusive
Jarhead 1 disc & 2 disc

By that count it would be 7, with The Kingdom disc being a bonus (although no idea if it is the same as the Target one)

Or

10 as listed before

chris_sc77 03-04-08 09:07 AM

DVDempire lists it as an 8 disk set.

tylergfoster 03-04-08 12:35 PM

Depending on what's on it, I'll think about it. I already have Jarhead and The Kingdom (Target version).

Trigger 03-04-08 01:58 PM

Hmm... sounds interesting - I don't have any of those films and haven't seen Ray or Kingdom... At 40 bucks, it sounds like a bargain. However, the fact that it includes Miami Vice is making me have second thoughts.

And remember that $40 is the retail price. Most stores will be carrying this for around $26-$30.

This sounds pretty damn good, and a note on Miami Vice, especially the director's cut, it's a damn good movie. If you haven't seen it, do. If you saw it and hated it, whatever I can see how it wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea, but I got mad at two of my friends who refused to see it just because it was Miami Vice.

Recent googling shows an 8 disc count, but I nothing I saw looks definitive. I think I'll end up getting this, as I only own one of the four titles I think.

That cover art is like a joke.

DJariya 04-06-08 12:18 PM

That cover art looks like a Chinese bootleg.

Disc 8: JARHEAD - Bonus Disc:

Highly Recommended I must say. Again, the only thing I would change if I was in charge of this was to make the set 4 slim cases (1 slim case for each film) and combine disks 2 and 3 (the content on both these disks combined can easily fit onto one disk) bringing the set to a total of 7 disks.
Still this is an excellent value (I picked my set up for $23.50 from DD) even though I already had Ray, Miami Vice and the 1-disk Jarhead (which I've already since sold for $5)

Thanks for the run down.. Can someone confirm if The Kingdom bonus disc content is the same as the Target one?

Are there any other content that is exclusive to this collection?
