Hi,
I can't believe you guys HIRED a freaking idiotic translator to do the translation of HOSTEL shown on 1:10 a.m., Aug 27, Taiwan time.
We all know it's a movie about ELITE HUNTING, yet the goddamned idiot who did the translation made it EXCITING HUNTING.
Whenever the words ELITE HUNTING (精英獵殺) appear onscreen, the Mandarin subtitle says EXCITING HUNTING (刺激獵殺).
What the f@#% was he/she trying to do? Fool the audience? Or at least the SUPERVISORs who'r responsible for all this? I guess.
There's some SERIOUS problem with the MANAGEMENT/QUALITY CONTROL of the translation.
It really pissed me off watching the LOUSY TRANSLATION. And I think I'm NOT the only one who e-mailed you guys complaining about this.
The movie will be shown MORE TIMES on
Sun, 9 Sep at 11:30PM
Sat, 15 Sep at 2:00AM
Thu, 20 Sep at 12:30AM
Mon, 24 Sep at 10:00PM
Show some dignity, do yourself (HBO) and all the movie-lovers a favor. Please, CORRECT THAT TRANSLATION.
Please, please protect the HBO REPUTATION (if the world thinks you have any), or at least TRY TO DO IT for crying out loud.
My suggestions:
1. Get rid of that freaking idiot who translated this film (I guess he/she's only a high school graduate? NTD 5000 up for the translation of a film ain't easy money, pal~) and APOLOGIZE to us audience, issuing some announcement or put up some NOTICE on your website (by the way, NO FORUM on the website? NO MESSAGE BOARD? Gee…)
2. Just copy whatever the original subtitles onto screen. I don't care if it's illegal. We need CORRECT TRANSLATION. That's the basics.
3. Brave enough? Don't do the translation AT ALL. Keep all the movies you're gonna show after midnight THE WAY THEY ARE. French? Spanish? English? Just let it be. NO SUBTITLES. Make a COOL decision.
Don't disgrace HBO. And don't think Asians CAN'T READ English.
That's all I ask.
Thanks.
Cheers,
Fatbat
