Funny, I thought it was listening to Tim Burton commentaries that could cause one to go insane, not the lack of them. I loved this movie though, can't wait to pick up the 2-disc SE.

Personally, I wouldn't confuse people on DVDTalk that have no idea what is going on with the format war. Paramount is HD DVD exclusive as of RIGHT NOW. This is being announced as an HD DVD only movie right now, today. Would you like me to go into all the Sony, Fox, Disney etc. threads and say I am waiting for the HD DVD version?

I honestly thought this movie was incredibly lackluster...

Truly one of 2007's best and, perhaps, Burton's masterpiece (though the exclusion of The Ballad of Sweeney Todd sucked the biggest sucked that ever sucked).

While I'm disappointed that there's no DTS (honestly, musicals should always be included with DTS tracks), I'll be first in line for the 2-disc.

2-disc for me as well, not gonna bemoan the lack of a commentary because Burton can be hit-or-miss on the commentary.

DVD Spot has this small picture for the 2-disc special edition. It looks pretty cool...I wish the image was bigger though. :/

the 2-disc art's pretty cool. I just hope there's a classy way to do the Oscar and GG noms on there.

Such a badass image. I saw the trailer for this and thought, "shit. This will own."

It's not among my top 10 for this year (as are a lot of other movies I loved), but I'll grab the HD DVD permitting it makes it out.

I'll buy the HD version, barring no last minute Paramount changes.

WOW! Terrible cover art for the 1- disk.
The 2 disk temp. cover art is cool but the 1-disk is just awful.
I really really hate Paramount. They fucked over many of my favorite films last year with terrible DVD releases.

How is it I knew, aside from changing the background, that the art of Sweeney, Mrs. Lovett and the razor was gonna be the art for ONE of the covers?

So this is just temporary artwork? Certainly, the one on the HD-DVD cover is rather blatantly photoshopped onto the box...

It's hard for me to believe they're real... Why would they have changed the name logo from something blood-covered and detailed to something more generic? More importantly, why would they crop out HBC's breasts, which were like the main point of that photo?

So, I take it the simultaneous HD-DVD release won't happen...
