Battlestar Galactica Season 4...Split Release like S2
 

Tvshowsondvd is reporting that Season 4 of Battlestar Galactica will be released in 2 parts the way season 2 was, with season 4.0 late this year followed by 4.5 next year.

Obviously, this is a long ways off and things could change, but I guess a split release doesn't bother me if the price is reduced some, and I don't mind paying a small premium to get the first half sooner.

Have they said whether SciFi is going to play the entire 4th season this year (all 20 episodes)? Last I heard, they were going to split them up into two 10-episode seasons with the last 10 being aired in 2009.

It looks like it will be split up, but both halves will be considered season 4 and they will release the first half on DVD before the 2nd half airs.

What's worse is that Universal is probably gonna charge nearly the same amount for half a season. Hopefully they'll cut the price down.

I don't care how they release them, just want them in a timely manner

I wonder if the expensive, late sets and lack of reruns is Universal's way of pushing online sales of episodes. For two bucks, you can get the most recent episode the next day. Then they nail people again for the box set's "exclusive" content.
