What happened to Led Zep's Song Remains The Same DVD?

I remember when this came out at the end of last year. I remember seeing both the SD and the SD Collectors Edition. I never saw the BD or HD DVD on shelves.

So what happened that all of the editions are OOP? I expected the Collections Edition to OOP quickly, but the SD? And did the HD versions ever come out in either format? Amazon has the HD and BD for pre-order, but is it actually going to happen? Every store I've been in has had nothing in any format, except for one random Best Buy near me which has like 40 SD's. What in the world is going on here?

Deep Discount DVD? Probably not. I wouldn't even try.

E-Bay has copies of the Blu-Ray and HD versions available for regular retail type prices. Some copies got out in December before Warners recalled them. It's not clear why it was released and recalled. It might be the standard definition copies had whatever problem with high definition ones do that caused them to be recalled, so they didn't make more copies after the first run sold out.

I have the BD version, which has the audio dropouts on the TrueHD track. From what I understand, the HD DVD doesn't have this, and of course the DVD doesn't since it's Dolby Digital. So, I doubt that's the reason those would be pulled.

Some think it's a legal issue regarding the news footage.

I almost didn't get this - now I'm glad I did.

Though you can still get it from amazon marketplace, not cheap, but not too big a rip-off either... yet.

CD Universe has this listed for preorder, due out 2/19/08.

Don't know what the glitch with the first release was. My guess is it's nothing that will wind up making it valuable.

Someone on another forum reported receiving the new version of the disc from the WB store earlier this week. According to him, one of the extras (a Cameron Crowe radio interview) is removed. That must have been the legal issue with the original release.

I'm wearing mine right now as I read this thread!

I also ordered the poster and got that in the mail a few weeks ago.
