Does this disc have a picture or is it a grey disc?

pridesticks06 03-15-08 12:28 AM

I don't own it [yet] but looks like this customer posted a pic.

tylergfoster 03-15-08 10:42 AM

That is NOT what the disc looks like! Mine has the same image from the front of Brolin running from the Jeep, in color.

Same here.

GreenVulture 03-15-08 03:23 PM

Netflix copies are grey.

pridesticks06 03-15-08 10:14 PM

Well like I said, I don't own it. Just found that.

benh911 03-16-08 02:26 AM

Yeah, I rented it from Redbox and my copy looked like the image from above..So I guess the version you buy in stores is different from the one you rent.

But that's about it.

I don't really see this movie spawning a franchise. :)

Hey, thanks for spoiling the ending for me. I've been waiting since the movie was released in theaters to watch it and managed not to find out any key plot points until now. Have a great weekend!

Up to the motel scene it was a good movie.
Seems they were out to make a HANNIBAL, JASON or MICHEAL MYERS series right from the start with the ending this movie has.

Those liberal, liberal Coen bros. -ohbfrank-

True, but to be fair, if you haven't seen a movie and don't want any spoilers, it's probably not the wisest thing snooping through a four page thread about it.

Right, a 4 page thread in the "DVD Talk" area, designed to discuss the components of the dvd itself, and not opinions of the film. Am I wrong about this? If so, I stand corrected.

tylergfoster 03-17-08 12:29 AM

Well, yeah, but if you know the specs and the coverart what else do you need to know? It's still risky ground to tread, not everyone is going to keep their mouth shut and that's even more of a "rule" that will be upheld than people not spoiling the film in the DVD thread.

ResIpsa 03-17-08 01:16 AM

It's still bad form to provide spoilers without a warning (that's the purpose of spoiler tags, isn't it?). Maybe not "bad" on the same level as beating on small dogs and children, more like "leaving the toilet seat up" bad.

I just think it is common courtesy to put spoiler tags on crucial info if you are going to discuss elements of the film within the DVD Talk area. I was looking for info about whether any retailers were providing bonus discs. When I read through the thread, and the ending of the film was ruined without warning, I thought that was really inconsiderate. That information should have been discussed in the movie talk section.

Tarantino 03-17-08 09:28 PM

Yeah, he should have put it in spoilers, but from experience, know that if you haven't seen a movie yet, it's <i>probably</i> best that you stay out of the threads if you don't want any spoilers.

There's a 'Store Exclusives' thread in the bargains section if you need to know what stores have what with all discs, and there's websites like DVDBeaver for specs and comparisons.

That's just my two cents.

new artwork for what? surely, they aren't going to re-issue the DVD with it that soon.

Rockmjd23 04-18-08 11:21 PM

This is probably a good candidate for a double dip?

Not really. The Coen brothers have only done one commentary track (for The Man Who Wasn't There), and I can't see what else could be added to make this worth releasing again.

Rockmjd23 04-19-08 02:14 AM

I picked one up at the store and didn't see a lot of special features...but I guess I'll bite on it anyway.

JJE-187 04-19-08 02:33 AM

I picke dthis up at BB for $8, so I am happy with it for now unless they release a Director's/Extended/Unrated Cut later i will stick with my current copy. I don't have alot of time for special features anymore

pridesticks06 04-19-08 02:44 AM

$8? Is there a sale or coupon memo I missed?

JJE-187 04-19-08 02:55 AM

No it was used for $12.99 and with 40% off it made it $7.99. The disc was in great shape though, If your interested family Video has it used for $9.95
