How many and what date was your biggest purchase day ever?
So some DVD collection sites you are able to sort by purchase date and i got to thinking what my biggest purchase day was since i've had a couple recently. I buy most on release day so that sort works accurately for me too.
so 12/18/07 was my biggest in a long while with 7 releases: "Evil Dead" (UE) "Blade Runner" (LE) "Alpha Dog" "The Simpsons Movie" "Hatchet" (BB Set) "Halloween" (Lenticular) "Braveheart" (SCE) So what was your biggest purchase day...how many and what date? **listing titles is optional, but might be more fun** |
i belive black friday 2006 was one of my biggest purchase dates ever. i don't recall how many titles total, would have to look up my receipt or something, but i remember getting at least 15-20 titles, and my total was somewhere around $400, which is pretty high considering how low some of those discs are priced. i can only remember these right off the top my head:

Tomorrow, actually. I'm planning to go around and pick up as many collector's editions of Blue Harvest as possible. These should go for a nice sum on ebay down the line. :thumbsup:

I never buy more than 2 or 3 at a time, usually just 1 except for bundling to get free shipping, so I don't know what my biggest day was. I could sort by release date, but that obviously wouldn't work because it would show titles I bought later. (I don't track when I bought something.)

12/18 was probably mine too. About 7 titles purchased that day.

hmmm.
bought all the twilight zones old release in regular keep cases at a pawn shop back in 2001, for $150- there was 40+ discs. on feb 3 2003, i bought around 14 copies of ED Wood, as my Best Buy was one of a few stores to sell them on release day. another pawn shop i go to, has 10 dvd's for $25, and i buy 10 from there, every couple of months. |

Recently I just bought -Seed of Chucky HD -Resident Evil BD -Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night 2 -Prom Night 3 / 4 -Phantasm Box Set (from UK) -Wrestlemania Anthology Vol. 1 Pretty much all on the same day averaging out to about: $119 only...not bad. |
In terms of $$$ i bought Looney Tunes Golden Collection volume 1-3 for $45-50 each on July 30th, 2006 from Amazon.

I believe, the last DDD sale. On 11/14 I received 25 DVD/Blu-Ray for $508.

A DDD sale a few years ago. It was such a big order I still haven't seen some of those movies. I think the order was for ~$600, and a lot of the titles were <$5.

20% off sale DVD Planet, bough quite a few including the M*A*S*H: Martini's and Medicine Collection. Total came to somewhere around $250. I felt nauseous afterwards.

Christmas 2006: Got 1st 5 seasons of 24 for $20 each and Six Feet Under: The Complete Series for $115. Freaks and Geeks: Yearbook Edition for $127.50 This past fall: Sopranos Season 4, 5 and 6 Part 1 for $30 each at Costco. |
Don't recall the date, but it would probably be the day I bought fifty anime titles from RightStuf. Couldn't pass up the "25 titles for $100" deal on the Geneons.

I don't remember prices, or dates, but for online (or through mail) purchases it would have been my initial Columbia House order (the first time, I'm re-upping) 10 or 12 titles depending on what the deal was at the time. For in-store purchase it would be in Dec 006 I got Seasons 1-4 & 6 of Charmed (5 titles). I have also gotten 6 titles at one time as well. I don't remember titles or date, but I think I once got 8 titles in-store, but that is not-confirmed so I'll stick with 5 or 6 at one time my biggest haul
