How is enquiring about obtaining a replacement disk before buying the set, rather than after, considered being a thief?

If I wanted to be a thief I'd just rent the thing and copy it.

Um, because the REPLACEMENT disk is for people that bought the set and need to REPLACE their copy of disk 1.

It's not a preview disk. You might want to go and roll your eyes somewhere else.

As long as when you inquire about the "replacement" disc you mention to them that you never bought the disc in the first place and are looking for free samples as if you were at a grocery store.... if you leave that part out, you're a thief. They do want to know which retail store you purchased the disc at.

The fact that you're contemplating this route rather than renting and copying it just means you're a lazy thief.

I called up BCI about a different matter, and the pre-recorded message at the beginning said that replacement discs would be sent out March 7. And don't call/email them if you've already given them your info - they simply can't respond back to everyone, so you have to trust them.

I saw a regular volume 1 edition at the FutureShop at 401/Weston yesterday. Haven't seen the exclusive one at Bestbuy yet.

yup it has been corrected with the disc they sent me.

No not the red color problem. It was an episode that was missing a segment. The red problem exist on all discs.

Oh..my replacement came today as well. Pretty good turn around.
