Termination (Animatrix style Terminator release)

I searched and didn't see this mentioned.

From an interview with producer James Middleton on the Sarah Conner Chronicles
link

I’m also working on an animation project called Termination, which will utilize anime and animation auteurs to do individual segments inspired by the Terminator franchise. It will be like The Animatrix, except it will have a much more international flair. This idea of Judgment Day is not something that would just affect Los Angeles, it would affect the world, so we’ll have European animators as well as Japanese animators. We’re just in early development and hope to have that ready for release in 2009.

I honestly wonder what does James Cameron think of all of these Terminator-related projects.

I remember he said he really liked Terminator 3, but did not like Alien3. Which is too bad, because while I like both, Alien3 is by far the greater movie (at least the workprint).

I liked Animatrix so this has potential. The TV show, however, looks awful. Anyone else cringe when that bimbo says "Come with me if you want to live." in the commercials?

You mean, just like Arnold did in T2?

And Michael Biehn in T1. That's why I gagged.

I don't know, to me, that was just a call out to the best movie in the series, to give fans some recognition. T3 doesn't exist in my world.

I like Alien³ as well, but I agree that those first five minutes came off like a big middle finger to Aliens.

The new terminator show was okay. caught the free pilot episode on Yahoo TV last saturday. It had moments but still seemed lacking. Ill give it a few episodes to see what is gonna happen. I'll be interested in seeing an animated version of the series.

I was able to watch a "pre-release" of the show last month. I thought it would be awful, but it was actually MUCH better than I ever imagined it would be. It's kind of wierd at first with different actors in the title roles, but once you get past that, the action is really hardcore and the FX are good and the story ties in with much of the T2 timeline and characters.

The worst part is the "come with me" girl. She's just a lousy actress. But I'm actually looking foward to catching the show when it airs.

This could be awesome, or awesomely bad. I'm a fan of most of the Animatrix shorts so if they can deliver the same quality as The Second Renaissance and Flight of the Osiris then I'll be all over this.
