Why are they showing the old Kubrick re-release box set?
Can't argue with any of those picks (except for Transformers, which I found to be irredeemably silly) - but the biggest surprise for me this year was Black Book, an almost tactile experience for me on DVD, and Carice van Houten's performance in it was legendary.
How on earth is House of Games: Criterion Collection not on this list?
3:10 to yuma is technically a 2008 release.
20. Ingmar Bergman: Four Masterworks |

Great list, loved Black Book, but ATHF was horrible, I couldn't even finish it.

Aqua Teen Hunger Force? How come?
You really have to go pretty far down on the list before you hit anything that's not contemporary. I'm not sure how much value I'd give to a list that omits the 3-disc THE JAZZ SINGER with its bountiful extras that provide not only entertainment value, but lots of film history.
Eastern Promises, although one of my favorite movies of 2007, looks like it will receive a pretty bare bones release. I'm surprised it's on the list. I'm even more surprised that Pan's Labyrinth 2-disc is missing - definitely in my top 5 DVD releases of the year.

Black Book is the one i'm interested in getting on DVD. I read the descriptions on it and it sounds really good. I haven't been able to pick it up yet. 300 was great, I bought that on release day. The Kubrick collection , I only want a few of the movies of the set, The Shining, Clockwork Orange. 3:10 To Yuma - i'm waiting to be released. Deathproof was cool also.

Knocked Up....?!
http://amysrobot.com/files/siskel_ebert.JPG on that list...??? much less at #4? Travers has zero credibility as a DVD and/or film reviewer complete and total phailure |

Travers always does his lists based primarily on the quality of the movie itself, rather than the whole DVD package...that's how movies like Zodiac get on the list. Great film, but as a DVD it was lackluster (no bonus features whatsoever).
