Just get the R1 DVD view it in its full glory. No need to waste money on R3

I'll have to pick up the R1 sometime in the near future.

Rypro ... you certain the R3 Korean release is NOT uncut (not identical to the US release)?

DVDFromKorea lists this as 157 minutes with an "uncut" reference and 18+ rating.

According to IMDB the cut version is 148 minutes.

I too have yet to see anyone personally confirm what's on (or in this case not on) the Korean release.

The R1 transfer is quite good, but the Korean packaging is very sweet! But I can't pay the premium on this one.

The R1 DVD's running time is 159 mins where else the R3 lists as 157 mins. Perhaps 2 mins worth of the 'scenes' are cut we will never know.Anyway I am glad that I chose
the R1 version even though it's barebone.

Yeah, but that could be two minutes of credits.

The world's a big place, someone has to personally know if the Korean release is uncut by now. Krikey!

FWIW, it seems the Korean theatrical release was uncut:

Something interesting regarding this film. Apparently Tang Wei (who played Tony Leung's lover) has been banned from Chinese media because of the sexual nature of the film.

Here's another recent censorship crackdown on Lost in Beijing: http://www.varietyasiaonline.com/content/view/5233/53/

These moves don't surprise me. But what about the godfather, Tony Leung? First time actress Tang gets strung up yet Leung receives a get out jail free card. Too funny!

Tang will probably go into exile and resurface in the next great Ratanaruang film. Can't wait to see her again. Excellent acting talent and classical look!
