Stickers on Criterion DVDs

How many of you just peel off the ''Director Approved'' sticker and just stick it on the DVD case?

islandclaws 11-29-07 07:19 PM

Not me, but I have an OCD friend that does that in addition to keeping every friggin' catalog they used to include. Hello! They're all the same except new ones every few months buddy!

dpz301 11-29-07 07:26 PM

i just cut them off and put them inside the case since they are always on the outside plastic.

By inside the case do you mean in with the booklet and disc, or sandwiched between the cover art and plastic? I do the latter. I feel like such a dork.

alfonsosoriano 11-29-07 07:34 PM

I throw them away with the plastic LMAO.

I think the only one that I ever kept was the first one that featured the Bergman Devil signature. I believe it was on Scenes from a Marriage. I threw away all of the others, including the subsequent Bergman stickers.

Frenzal Rhomb 11-29-07 08:31 PM

hehe yeah it's just I saw some listings on Ebay with people doing that, and I was like whoa do people really do that..

canaryfarmer 11-29-07 08:37 PM

I make sure to rip it up a whole bunch first, then I shred the remaining bits into confetti, which is then thrown at an unattended parade.

I list auctions of lots of a dozen stickers, assorted, on eBay.

I don't ruin any of my Criterion DVDs by opening them, so this is not an issue.

PopcornTreeCt 11-29-07 09:46 PM

I take the sticker off and stick it to the case inside.

I'll save the stickers of Criterion DVDs, but I save the stickers of any and all DVDs, both the security sticker, the one with the title, and any other stickers (not price stickers though). Although I don't worry about them if I can't get them to come off the plastic in one piece, then I just throw them away.

HAHAHA. That is an expensive collection of movies you won't watch.

Mondo Kane 11-30-07 12:41 AM

If they got 'em, I'll do it.

Still P.O'd that some damn clerk taped the price tag of my Blood For Dracula over my "Director Approved" sticker.

I sandwich the sticker between the inside cover and the insert booklet.

Count_Zero 11-30-07 10:42 AM

I first put on a pair of latex surgical gloves so I don't get any more fingerprints on the outside shrinkwrap. I then carefully wipe it down with a lint-free cloth to eliminate all signs of human handling. After this, I sssssllllllllllooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwly peel off all stickers (including price-tags and sale stickers), placing them carefully onto individual acid-free archival-quality 3x5 cardstock. On the back of each of these cards I apply pre-printed lables I've created bearing the DVD title from which the sticker was removed, the date and exact time the disc was purchased, the name of the store where the purchase was made, the exact amount paid for the DVD, the weather conditions at the time of purchase and a detailed description of the clerk who sold it to me. These cards are then individually bagged and numbered, then the numbers and contents of each bag are cataloged in a Microsoft Access database. If the DVD was bagged at the time of purchase I also save the shopping bag, carefully folding, dating, numbering and cataloging it in the same fashion.

They have stickers on them?

DonnachaOne 11-30-07 02:00 PM

No, because I only care about the flick.
