'The Brave One' Headed to Blu-ray, HD DVD

Jodie Foster will be packin' heat in high-def this February, when Warner brings 'The Brave One' to both Blu-ray and HD DVD/DVD combo disc.

Directed by Neil Jordan, the acclaimed vigilante thriller scored a $40 million-plus domestic gross this past fall, setting the stage for a February 5 cross-format bow on Blu-ray, HD DVD and standard-def DVD.

Announced features are surprisingly slim for such a well-received title, with the "I Walk the Streets" featurette and deleted scenes the only extras.

Tech specs include uncompressed PCM 5.1 Surround on the Blu-ray, with the HD DVD receiving a comparable Dolby TrueHD 5.1 Surround track. Both enjoy identical 1080p/VC-1 video encodes.

Suggested retail for the HD DVD/DVD combo and the Blu-ray versions is $35.98 a pop.

Definitely not the correct release date. 1/21 is a Monday.

I had it listed before as 2/5.

is the price has a pound sign next to it, i guess the user is referring to the british release rather then the us one, which will indeed be february 5th.

Bummer...but it'll be worth the wait. It's a great movie!

I enjoyed the movie and I guess it deserves a second viewing on DVD.

Saw the trailer for this but being stationed in italy missed the release so ill be gald to see it. Looked good.

It's been announced for it's Feb 5th date. Amazon has it for $19.95, while DDD has it for $16.94. Unless you want HD or Blue-Ray - which of course is more.
