Well, there may be nothing that can be done. I don't know of any magazine articles or books about the history of the site.

Maybe Geoff should write a book. :)

The forum is slow enough as it is, I don't think we want to advertise it to more people. :)

The site was started by Geoffrey Kleinman [1] with the purpose of creating an online resource to help people decide what to watch on DVD.
Really? And I am truly asking because I wasn't here at the very start. I thought it would be because people already decided what to watch and wanted to discuss those things somewhere.

And the article clearly fails because it clearly omits the following:
Twikoff
Pee In Her Butt
Moran
Otter Farm
No mention of the sub-forums, or the spin off Adult Talk

And I am sure there are other important things I am trying to think of but am failing to do so at this late hour.

DVD Talk is also a "Green Business". The site and company is run in the most environmentally friendly and sustainable way possible. This is one of the reasons they don't have a printed companion magazine. DVD Talk not only recycles just about everything they dispose of but re-use whenever possible.
:)

the site began as a bargains site... the main page was bargain news and listings and the only forum was what we now call the dvd bargains forum

What about danol? You could have a whole Wikipedia page dedicated to him. I need to go through the archives sometime and check out some of his threads.

-screwy- Wikipedia is kind of strange. They have this picture of a dog platterhttp://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u...p/Dog_meat.jpg but then they might delete Dvdtalk?

I think Roger Ebert has referenced the site a few times.

I actually went to check the Mulan II quote, and it was there! I didn't buy the DVD, I swear!

DrS 11-19-07 09:22 PM

Ahh, Danol. Did he not pop up with different names, and also on other forums??

Back to dumpster diving while I await a reply.

iirc, there's also something on the r1 released of park chan-wook's 'joint security area'.
