I really meant as a Janus release that it was unlikely to be oop.

Ordered all four at same time from Amazon and just got email confirmation that they have shipped only "Quai des ofrevres," leaving the other three in "waiting to be shipped" status. Each of these three titles shows as only 2-4 copies available on the main site. Hmmmmm. Probably should have chosen a paid shipment method because it looks like those few copies might get snagged from under my pending order. Ah well...

These are officially out of print. Someone at the Criterion Forum received an e-mail reply that they are no longer available.

Heads up for those who recently purchased these on amazon, the price on all but "Le Corbeau" just dropped to $21.99 (from $26.99) so you will want to request a post-purchase price adjustment. It's not clear whether these are all still in stock so YMMV. "Quai..." and "Port of Shadows" show as 1-3 week delivery, which in this case probably means "never gonna happen" as they likely won't be getting any more from Criterion.

May lessen the sting of having paid $27 for a single disc release....

Thanks for pointing this out. I ordered these the day the OOP announcement was made and have already received them. I'm going to try to get a credit for them.

However, it's interesting that "Variety Lights" is now listed as In Stock again, and the price currently shows $26.99.

I ordered Variety Lights for $26.99, saw it two days later for $21.99 and they gave me $5 back. On Amazon.

Just received an email from Amazon stating that I would be refunded $15, which will soon be deposited with DVD Planet.

And now it's back up to $26.99 again, so no $5.00 credit I assume.

Looks like all of these except Variety Lights are back in stock at DVD Planet, which pains me deeply, considering how much I paid for them. Stock up while you can.

Re: 4 Studio Canal Criterion titles now OOP

According to a 3/1/09 review at CriterionForum.org, "Quai des Orfevres" is coming (came) back into print 3/10/09.

Hurray! Despite the news, it's still not showing up at DeepDiscount.com.
