I never got to see this since they didn't have any showings here in Dallas, which was a big bummer after seeing Adam and some of the cast at the horror show earlier this year.
They did show us the scene where the lady gets here head torn in half, which was one hell of a crowd pleaser at the show and probably my favorite death seen in a long time.
I'm all over this release.

They made a huge deal about this at Flashback Weekend this year. I wanted to see this in the theater, but it was only playing for like two weeks and in limited theaters. I will check out the DVD though. If the price is right, I might just buy it blind.

For fans of fun, gory slasher flicks... don't be afriad to blind buy. I loved this movie and thought it was exactly the kind of throwback horror flick I like to see. Glad to see they're putting out the unrated cut, which I pretty much expected since the gore is most of what helps sell this film.

Looked like it was right out of a Troma movie...

I personally thought it was freakin awesome! I saw it at the Fantasia festival here in Montreal with 500 other gore hounds and Adam Green was also there for a kick ass Q&A after the movie.
It was really funny and it was at times kinds creepy but the over the top gore was just the best. Not scary gore but the Evil Dead/Dead Alive funny type gore that's just so over the top and gruesome that you just have to laugh about it.
Definitely blind buy it people!

My stupid Circuit City never got it in and I really want their 2 disc version. I'm travelling this weekend. So, hopefully I'll be able to pick it up at a different CC.

For those that like steelbooks and are all-region, there's a R2 2-disc. Looks like it has the same content as the R1. Little pricey and the cover is as bloody but it's still a steelbook for those fans.

with the Hatchet/Halloween dual offer this week, Tenleytown Best Buy didn't have Hatchet in stock- that throughly annoyed me and I railed on the BB employee.
so... is 'Hatchet' really that good, 'Behind the Mask' good?

I grabbed it at BB and got the free keychain. Hey, it's something. AB did a great job on this disc, lots of cool extras and a great transfer. I hope this sells well so they can get to work on the sequel.

I netflixed HATCHET a couple of days ago and enjoyed it quite a bit. It's not the reinvention of the wheel as some critics seem to imply, but it is gory and fun, and the characters are likeable enough. Not bad at all for a recent genre film, and that's saying something. I'll probably pick it up sometime soon.
