The Road Warrior: Special Edition???

It's on HD. Why isn't it on standard DVD? I've still yet to see the original uncut version. Is Warner just holding out for more extras or just don't care or what?

IIRC WB said in their last chat that they were working on this for a 2008 release. The HD version is the same as the standard just in hi-def, no?

It has an HD-exclusive commentary and Leonard Maltin intro not found on the SD.

I'd be really disappointed to see this be my first HD double-dip... :(

^ atleast it would be a worthy cause. mad maxx and road warrior are two classics

It has the commentary, but it also has the film UNCUT (as I understand it), which the previous DVD did not. I'd definately buy it.

That would be great...

If WB releases a two disc set for The Road Warrior in 2008 with a bunch of extras that are SD exclusive, I'll be pissed since I already have the original SD release and the HD-DVD.

That would tell me that they compromised ("hurried") this title for HD release intentionally. I would rather WB have held back the HD release until the new special edition for SD comes out if that is the case.
