Went to Circuit City and they didn't have any in stock. Asked an employee if they had it and they said "Was it in the ad? - I said "No!", they he said "Well we must have sold out of it."
I thought to myself, "Yeah right".
This isn't the first time they didn't have a new release in stock, even those that they advertised.
Already watched disc 1. Picture is a tad soft, but much better than what I remember seeing on their broadcast. Too bad it really doesn't have much in extras, except for some "Dance of Joy" montage.

I too am bummed about the major lack of any special features, but the memories are well worth it! (even though the guy at BB mocked me for like 5 minutes for buying it)

Called Circuit City from Best Buy, and the giggly girl who answered told me they weren't carrying Perfect Strangers in the store. Online only. Didn't bother to try price matching; my Best Buy doesn't compete with competitor web sites. But, no big deal; $24.99 is a perfectly good price.
Great to hear the episodes are uncut. Long as there's no syndication in play, and the picture and sound are presented cleanly enough, that's all that matters. Bonus features are okay, but-- especially for TV releases-- more often than not seem to be stupid fluff pieces tacked on because this is DVD, and people demand them. I just want a show I love in its original television exhibition.
Six seasons to go. Keep it up, Warner.

I'm still waiting on future seasons of Drew Carey and Welcome Back, Kotter.

I haven't been following the chats with Warner on HTF, but has news of future season releases been mentioned?

Well, I'm assuming the original set bombed hard on the market which is why there is no news on further sets.
Not really surprised... Not the type of cross generational show to carry out of the 80's. It was born there and will die there. Much like many of the 50's shows which we never heard from again.
All this while I Love Lucy carries on for generations -- and still does well. Paramount loves it!
So, you never know... Some things make it; some don't.

The last news I heard remotely tied to this season is Warner is leasing the rights for all their TV shows to Shout Factory now. I would suspect Shout will get this out before long.

I hope that is true. I don't believe it sold poorly. In my area I found it the first week then never saw it much again. I've also overheard people asking for it at the store multiple times only to be told they don't have it. If anything they underproduced this set. Anybody want to start a petition and send it to Shout?

According to Warner Archive's Facebook page today:
The wait will soon be over for PERFECT STRANGERS. We will be releasing the rest of the series on DVD, with a formal announcement soon to come. Check here in the future for details.

I just re-watched the season 1&2 DVD set a couple of weeks ago. Still think it holds up. Excited for this news.
