Are you kidding me? The WWE does this type of promotion for exactly the reason shown above, they know people will buy all 5 versions. So they sell 5x the amount of dvds to certain collectors, as long as people keep buying them they will keep doing them. Same for store exclusives, they will never go away as long as people buy them all.

JASNEWS 10-24-07 09:12 AM

Does anyone know if the 2/3 falls match on the HBK DVD is the title change that was taped for Saturday Night's Main Event that was reversed and never aired? I knew magazines back then reported it, but never remembered WWF admitting there was a change.

I just can't believe someone would by the same DVD 5 times just to "collect them all." I sure wish I had the money to simply throw around that some do on 5 different copies of a DVD.

You can believe it, he probably bought a sixth set to open and leave the other 5 sealed.

I hear you!

I've been reading his posts even before he was posting on this forum.

There's just so much more stuff you can do with that money, wrestling related, DVD related, or other wise.

For instance, buy a plane ticket or pay for gas and go to a Mysterio signing and meet the man himself!!

I truly envy that he can shell out all that money.

sergtv 10-24-07 12:43 PM

thats cool that he got all five colors, you think he would get all the saw movies if he liked them? yea right i'd like to see somebody do that.

I'm pretty sure it is the phantom title switch. At least some of my acquaintances have confirmed it is that match.

shacmasta 10-24-07 07:13 PM

I just got my walmart rey exclusive in the mail. Of course they send me the same green color I already bought 2 weeks ago.

As for buying the same DVD once, twice, three times and etc. It's hard to explain, so I won't try, but All I can say is that I used to spend money on pain killers, Now I happen to spend money on DVD's. Yea, It's throwing money down the drain for the most part but at least I'm not constipated any longer.

cerial442 10-24-07 11:38 PM

I picked up a red Rey Mysterio cover from Wal-Mart, and the Undertaker one as well.

I can't believe how cheap Wal-Mart is selling this for.

Prowler 10-25-07 02:10 AM

throwback nice collection.

Picked up both today also. $14.96 for each is a great price. They also had the Rey Mysterio set without the Smack Down vs. Raw bonus DVD for the same price.

Aces_High 10-25-07 06:26 AM

So wait, if I buy the Mysterio DVD in all color variations, I wont be constipated anymore?

***Rushing out to Walmart**

I bought the No Mercy 2003 DVD and a poster came inside with a calendar of upcoming 2003 and 2004 DVD releases. According to the calendar there was a Kurt Angle DVD released on March 2, 2004. Also there was a Best of confidential Vol 2 released on Feb 10 2004. Were these DVDS released?

xNightfallx 10-25-07 11:11 AM

No.

dx23 10-25-07 11:42 AM

Any explanation why were they cancelled? It's amazing that Brock Lesnar and John Cena have their respective DVDs but Kurt Angle didn't.

Not sure why they cancelled it, but i had a feeling it was going to be cancelled because within a week before its expected release there was no information at all but was suppose to be 3 discs. I guess WWE felt it wasn't Angle's time for one.

I could see WWE releasing a Self Destruction of Kurt Angle DVD in the next year or so.

nodeerforamonth 10-25-07 01:20 PM

Just so everyone knows, the Smackdown vs Raw 2008 "preview" is just that: a DVD "preview" of the game. No demo.

It was just one of those forever pushed back titles.

According to rumors at the time. It's a mixture of things. The main reason was just bad timing. It seemed like every time it was within striking distance, angle would get hurt or something and they would push it back till he was ready for in-ring action, so he would be able to promote it better.

Not to mention Angle had some what of a bret hart type ego and wanted so bad for them (wwe) to give him another major company carrying title run (that vince was cautious about giving him due to his health problems) to coincide with his DVD release. Just shitty luck really.

Best of Confidential: Volume 2 was canned when Confidential got canned.

deto 10-25-07 07:54 PM

The only store I was able to find the Christian Cage dvd was at BestBuy. Search bestbuy's website for it and check for locations in your area for availability. I think it is on sale this week for 19.99, while the sticker on mine said 24.99. So the price may change after Saturday. Hope that helps.
