mysterious Dragnet 5 Disc tin... anyone?
Grabbed this beast at BJ's the other day...
only one they had..
nice red tin, like the one band of Brothers comes in...
25 episodes.. 5 Discs inside (i hope.. it's still sealed) .. booklet inside.. embossed 'jack webb' dragnet logo and police badge on the front..
dated 2006 Madacy Entertainment..
upc doesn't show up in dvd profiler...
at first glance didn't see it at amazon/dvdempire/ebay.. etc..
didn't see it mentioned on tvshowsondvd..
anyone else ever see this?

yep, we sell it at coconuts (fye, transworld) madacy releases a ton of this stuff, generally pretty low quality, but often the source isn't much better.
tons of tins just like it available at our stores, all sorts of themed sets (wars, shows, comedy, etc...) pretty much anything you can think of.

I don't think I've been to a DVD store in the last few years that didn't have these. Frankly, I think these damn Madacy tins take up too much valuable shelf space for other worthwhile DVDs. Hell, my local Best Buy has an entire aisle filled with them.

I was a big fan of the old dragnet (late 60's/early 70's), I use to watch them with my uncle on nick at nite. So just like you, when I came across a tin with jack webb on the front and a price of 15 bucks, I said "why not"
Problem though, This one is the 1950's version of the show, Which isn't all that bad, some decent stories, But it's just not the ones I'm accustomed to watching. The Quality is what you'd expect form a public domain title, No better, no worse.

a few months back I was there for the same reason and saw the wire season 1 on the cheap, so was actually looking for season 2 (no luck), when i saw this dragnet box.
