Beautiful banner, has anyone decided on a number yet? Would Grumpy Old men count for a holiday movie, I watched a couple of weeks ago, and I think a good portion of the movie takes place during the christmas season.

Yes Grumpy Old Men will count. Also I think we'll go until December 31st and the goal will be 65.

Another movie set during the Christmas season that people might forget about: "Night of the Comet". I try to watch this and "Gremlins" every year around the holidays.

Can we make it January 1st or 2nd? I really don't want to watch New Year's Day movies until New Year's Day.

Here you go:

http://forum.dvdtalk.com/showthread.php?t=484170

I still have to finish going through the rest of the TV DVDs I've bought this year, to find any qualifying episodes to add to my list. Right now, I have about a dozen movies, and about 110 TV show episodes.

Thanks for the links Rob.

Also, sorry if this sounds lazy of me, but can you list those 110 episodes? I have 100s of TV seasons and would hate to have to do all the work you just did. Anyone who has already gone thru their seasons could save the rest of us a lot of time.

One of my favorite Gilmore Girls episodes is the season 3 Thanksgiving one

Thanksgiving
Season 3: A Deep-Fried Korean Thanksgiving
Season 6: He's Slippin’ ‘Em Bread... Dig? (not quite sure this counts, I know Thanksgiving is in it, just not sure enough of it is)

Christmas
Season 7: Santa's Secret Stuff (again not sure if there is enough in it to count.)

I might list my TV show episodes too. I did this last year just never posted them on here.

Also, Rob thank you for those links too, I'm gonna post them on the first post.

One other question, there are a lot of holiday concerts that often run on PBS during the chirstmas season. Could any type of concert shows count toward our lists?

I second that (going until 11:59PM on January 1st). That is a whole day when most people are off of work and a great time to check out a lot of "New Year's" programming and catch up on stuff you may ave missed during the hustle and bustle of the holiday rush. It's like the Halloween challenge... it ends at 11:59PM on Halloween.

I wish the Halloween one was more liberal. I'd like to list all the Halloween related TV shows that I watch during that season. Maybe I'll bring that up at the next meeting.

Sorry about the slight off-topic.

We still list them, just can't number them.

Back on topic, can we get a third/fourth/etc that this challenge has to last until at least 23:59 on the 1st (till daybreak on the 2nd would be better).

If we are going to include New Year's movies in the challenge, we have to allow them to be watched on New Year's Day.

True, but it would be nice to "get credit" for watching TV shows related to Halloween.

Anyway, I'm definitely using this thread as a guide to my holiday viewing this year. I noticed a lot of stuff that I've never even known about AND a bunch that I completely forgot about. TVGuide.com and IMDB will definitely be my ally this holiday season... as weil as this thread.
