Caligula (new version)...? anamorphic

I was watching my copy tonight and even though it looks anamorphic there is still a small black bar running just across the top of the screen! Is this correct? Do I have a faulty copy? Does everyone else have this bar as well and why is it there if it is 1:85 ratio?
any input would be appreciated as nothing is mentioned about it in the review on DVDTalk.

If you're watching it on a widescreen tv, which I assume you are, then a small black bar typically appears on top of 1.85:1 films.

The packaging states that the film is presented in 2.00:1 (Anamorphic).

Widescreen TVS are 1.78:1 screens. So if you are watching anything presented in a ratio wider than that, you will see black bars on top and bottom of the screen (but they will be a lot smaller than they would be on a standard 4:3 television).
