Personally I don't see the point in double-dipping for "Return of the Living Dead" despite the fact I love that movie.

I forgot this is coming out. I still have Season 1 unopened & yet to be watched. I would pick this up too, but I'm saving for the massive amounts of HD & BD releases over the next few weeks.

(3) Blueprint For Murder / Man In the Attic - Blueprint has Joseph Cotten's best performance and Man in the Attic is great fun.


(4) The Burning - Sick, demented, lovely.


(5) Chosen Survivors / The Earth Dies Screaming - Screaming is the last of the great Terence Fisher directed films not yet on DVD (unless you love To the Public Danger.)


(6) Devils Of Darkness / Witchcraft - time to embrace "The Old Religion."

(8) The Fly Classic Collection - "Helllp Meeeeeee!"


(9) The Food of the Gods - bigass rats, bigass fun.

(11) From Beyond - Barbara Crampton. Luscious.


(12) Gorilla at Large/Mystery at Monster Island - Anne Bancroft's role in Gorilla at Large is better than the one she played in The Graduate. Yes, really.

(15) The Lost World - At last, the 1960 version. Claude Rains, Michael Rennie, a poodle and lots of lizards. Also, a commentary and a restored version of the 1925 Lost World. Possibly the DVD of the year IMHO.


(16) Masada - The Complete Epic Mini-Series - No piece of television before or since has moved me as much as this. Peter O'Toole is ****ing extraordinary in this. Great, wonderful performance. I have not since this in twenty or more years but barely a day goes by that I don't think of it.


(17) The Phantom From 10,000 Leagues/The Beast Within A Million Eyes


(18) Return Of Dracula/The Vampire


(19) Return of the Living Dead - This will do until someone does a 'proper' special edition.

that's comparing apples to oranges IMO, I favour ReAnimator any day, but From Beyond is just as off the wall and more sexually tinged than ReAnimator.
