Definitely. I've got between 20 and 30 horror movies that I haven't watched yet. I'm sure I'll probably have a few more before October too.

Yup! I have 15 unwatched movies that I've been saving for the challenge; the rest of my rapidly dwindling pile of unwatched DVDs are all TV shows.

Thanks for answering everyone. I was curious. I thought everyone was doing it one way, but then I was looking at other people's lists and thought they might have been doing it that way. Lord, I don't even want to know what my number would be if I counted my unwatched discs. Kinda wish I had started that way, but I think I'll keep going with my completely unwatched movies.

Pretty much just do it however you would count them for yourself and try to eventually work your way down to 0. That's the goal.

lol I started thinking about it, and I really wanted to do it the other way too. It was actually only an additional 84 titles which was nice. I decided to keep two stats, one counting the unseen movies I'll call Blind Buys and another counting all of the unwatched discs.

Good Lord, if you're even the slightest bit obsessive compulsive, this is not the hobby to get into.

Welcome back.

So the stats for last month are up on the last thread and I'm working on this one. I've automated the calculations, so it shouldn't be this long unless I go on vacation like I did last month.

It is definitely open to interpretation and you can do it however you want, but I'm going to throw my two cents in here.

I can't quite figure out why one would only count titles that you haven't watched on DVD and titles that you have never seen at at all. As others said, it seems a valid assumption that you bought the DVD for a reason, and this thread is to track what you have watched on DVD, not what you have seen on TV, theater, etc...

For you, if you track it both ways, that would be a good way to keep track of it too.

Well keeping track of all my blind buys is something I wanted to have because most of the dvds I buy are bought blind, just because I don't rent movies and rarely have a chance to go to the theater anymore. I always liked having some movies that are completely unseen to me, but as you can see from my numbers, in the last year it's gotten rediculous. So my main goal was getting through all those, but then as the comments in this thread showed me, it would make sense to keep on track of all the discs I get for various reasons. So really, the blind buy stats are for my own knowledge so I can work topwards that goal, and the rest fits in line with the rest of this thread. I don't know, like I said, this hobby is crazy, as you can tell by the fact that we even need this thread. lol

Movies/Shows Watched:

25. Babylon 5: The Complete First Season: Signs and Portents (1994)
I can't assume that this is your first go-around for B5, but if it is, I envy you. I've gone through it twice, and the first time was amazing. Second time was almost as amazing. Just make sure you visit The Lurker's Guide after every episode!

It is actually my very first time watching Babylon 5. I've never seen it before, but I've heard great things about it. I loved the first season so now I'm off to start going through the next one. I'll check out the link. Thanks!

To answer your question, I'm just counting blind buys that I've made. If I've seen a movie, but haven't watched the DVD yet, I don't include it on the list.
