http://officialsongofthesouth.com/

I found this off of a banner ad here at dvdtalk. They claim these were sold at the French Disneyland. Crap?

I say crap. I don't think it's ever been released on DVD. I believe Japan saw a Laserdisc release though.

It looks somewhat legit, but I'm sure we would have heard about this before, just due to the sheer demand for this film, if it was really legal.

Those screenshots look like a crappy VHS transfer; they're all muddy and washed out. Nope. Disney maintains higher quality control on its product.

The screens were too small for me to get much of an idea, but I assume that if someone was going to do this, you'd at least see the laserdisc transfer.

I figured it was crap, but hey....banner ad at dvdtalk.

Yep, crap. No DVD release anywhere. Along with the Japanese LD release, a LD was also released in Hong Kong, and it was released on VHS in the UK.

Yes, and there was also weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

There has been no DVD of this released officially AFAIK. The best quality DVD (or download) is from the BBC in Britain which was aired a few months back.

Lots of threads on it.

I keep my Laserdisc player around just because I plan to record my Japan LD import to DVD-R for myself to watch it in the DVD player. I wonder if it has any Macrovision that will prevent it from recording it though.

No spare copies, I just have the one copy and I am holding on to that. At least until and unless they release it on Region 1 DVD.
