Is it possible to get these hockey games on DVD?
My cousin requested these games on DVD for his birthday but I can't find them and am out of idea's. Here's the email he sent me
"The 1971 Boston Bruins/Montreal Canadiens hockey playoff series on DVD.
7 game series, but I'll settle for Game 2. (My Dad would love it too.)
Second choice is the 1972 Russia Canada summit series hockey DVD."
Thanks
Rich

I had that 72 Summit Series set...I ended up selling it. There's large portions of the games missing video or audio (or both), because the master tapes are in that bad of condition. The Video quality is quite bad too...
I have this one - Summit on Ice - it's a 90min doc with all the good highlights...

and I've been thinking about picking up this doc, as it's the CBC 3-hour one, but I can't find a detailed review...

And I know you're looking for 70's stuff, but the 87 Canada Cup sets are badass...I've got this one too.

This one is on my list to pick up, perhaps next time I'm in Canada.

And the CBC "Legends of Hockey" Series (there's 2 of them) are pretty damn good as well, with profiles of individual players. I had read the NHL is going to step up in releasing more DVD sets for individual teams, and I'm pretty sure Montreal is on the way. I know there's a Pittsburgh one being done (Pens season tix holder here), and there are Penguins DVDs that were given away 2 seasons ago, which are floating around on ebay, if you're a Lemieux/Pens fan.

I've heard varying release dates, anywhere from November to February, and it would be nice if the team offered them at a discount or early release to season ticket holders. BTW...I think we've talked about it before, but I'm in E29, front row...if you've seen the Giant Yellow 'Shocker' Hands, that's my friends and I.
