Well, BestBuy.com shipped my LE today & the bonus disc is listed as "backordered". Who wants to bet I'll never see it? BB.com is horrendous about shipping bonus discs even it is a f#*%ing preorder. Unfortunately, that is my only way of getting it unless I want to drive 80 miles roundtrip.

I think most retailers would know that it's supposed to be glossy and not printer paper.

I just came from Futureshop and the steelbook is the extra case along with the 2 disc edition shrink-wrapped together much like the Ratatouille and Jungle Book ones.

The artwork is really nice but it's a shame there's nothing at all on the back. A little something like the Transformers or Live Free or Die Hard on the back would of been nice!

Wow, nice. I was debating buying the steelbook because I hate the overlapping layout and the hubs. But then again I also have the POTC: DMC steelbook from last year. But since we get the normal case as well I can have my cake and eat it too. Too bad my local Futureshop hasn't gotten their stock yet. I'll have to wait till tomorrow.

As for there being nothing at all on the back, I'm fine with it. I assume there's some sort of background image but just no text, which I find preferable over having some studio copyright mumbo jumbo on the back.

It's funny how the single-disc version has the "correct" cover art with the maelstrom while the double-disc and Blu-Ray have the "wrong" art with the fleet about to head over the waterfall.

I'm a little ticked that Amazon hasn't shipped my Blu-ray copy yet.

Hmmm I may have to attempt this coupon. At work we have a nice Laser Printer and some Glossy paper.

Probably won't try BB but Walmart might be worth a try. I'll grab it and run up to the checkout line

No background image at all. No text no image no nothing, just plain silver.

Hmm, that is quite odd. Were all the copies like that? I wonder if yours is just an isolated incident. Anyway, I'll find out tomorrow. If this is the case for all the steelbooks then chalk it up to laziness on the part of whoever Futureshop commissioned to produce the steelbooks ...

So did anyone see/hear what the disney display says...

Ours says ... Santa's gonna die this holiday....
We were not sure if that is good for little children to walk by and hear so we turned it off ... just seemed a little weird for disney.

Posted in the weekly exclusive thread:

A friend gave me a copy of the PotC bonus disc from Bestbuy Canada. It was skrink wrapped to the back of the 2 disc set with a blue sticker indicating bonus Bestbuy content.. The single disc edition doesn't appear to have it..

The run down of the contents, should be the same for the US release:

Pirates of the Salt Flats
The Return of the Dutchman
Acting Below the Surface
Destorying the Endeavor
From Wax to Will: Orlando & Madame Tussauds
World's End/World Premieres

Later

Mine doesn't even have the title printed on the spine, are they all like this or is mine just messed up?

WalMart has a PC game bundled with the single disc set

Target has an exclusive 2 disc set with with bonus features, bloopers, deleted scenes and an exclusive movie ticket to see "National Treasure 2". The Target add says "Exclusive Deluxe Edition" so I'm figuring it has more than the regular 2 disc set.

Circuit City has a visual guide with purchase.

K-Mart/Sears is offering a 3'X2' banner.

Toys 'R Us is offering a free wall clock.

FYE I'm sure with have something but have not heard.

Futureshop in Canda is offering a Steelbook. Does not mention if it's a 1 or 2 disc set though.

I don't think targets 2 disc is any different from the others'. Exclusive is just the movie cash...I think.

I was at Best Buy this evening and Picked up the 2-disc edition plus the bonus disc. Lots of people were ignoring the bonus disc because there wasn't a sign that said it was free with purchase of POTC3 and also there was a little sign next to it that said it was $4.99.

Same thing at the Best Buy I went to. We'll probably see 'em for a penny in the near future.
