Anyone know of an online list of DVDs with a 16x9 Enhanced Trailer as an extra?

Hi,

Does anyone know of any lists that exist anywhere online that specify which dvd titles have a 16x9 enhanced theatrical trailer as a Special Feature?

Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

Might want to put a question mark at the end of your subject line.

Thanks Mike. Can't change the thread name though.
Sorry in advance to all those thinking that this thread contained a list.

IIRC, the majority of trailers on Columbia/Tristar DVDs are anamorphic.

Thanks Robert. I thought I saw a few 16x9 trailers on some of my Columbia discs.

The reason why I'm asking this is because with my home theater I like to run trailers before the Feature, and I have a killer 100" 16x9 screen. I only like showing trailers that 16x9, so hence the question.

I'm hoping to avoid having to check every disc I have separately to see if the trailer is 16x9 enhanced

I don't have a list or know where one is, but may I ask why you would want this information? I know a lot of people like to have the trailers, but for me the trailer as a special feature is probably my least interesting special feature behind "interactive menus," "scene access," and "talent files." If it does have the trailer, I'll watch it because I am a completist, but could care less if it is anamorphic or not. It DOES bother me, however, if the trailer is a full screen crop of the actual trailer and not the OAR.

Edit: You snuck your post in under mind. Understand your reasoning now

I checked my DVDs on DVD Profiler and it doesn't discern whether the trailer is anamorphic and/or OAR or not.

Funny, this is the exact opposite of what I do, most certainly for a movie I haven't seen before. Trailers can give a lot of the movie away (especially if you watch it right before hand!) Many times I have watched a movie, then watched the trailer afterwords, and thought to myself "boy I'm glad I didn't watch the trailer first." I even try to avoid watching trailers for movies I want to see in the theaters.

For movies I have already seen before, I still like to go in "fresh"

I hear what you're saying. It's just that theater experience touch that I like to do. No one's ever complained about the trailers ruining a movie for them. Like a parent's lecture, in one ear, out the other.

Trailers on Warner, Paramount, and MGM DVDs are almost always 16x9 unless it's not for a widescreen film.

I have yet to go to a theater and have them show a trailer for the movie that I'm about to see. Maybe you should try showing trailers for other movies instead, for that true movie experience. :)

What, and risk being denied access to your "killer 100" 16x9 screen"?

I'm pretty sure that's what he does; he never stated he was showing the trailer for the same movie he was going to watch.

Makes much more sense now...

Reddye5 - Is that what you are doing? I'm assuming you have a disc changer? Otherwise I would find it awkward fumbling around putting in different DVDs to see trailers before watching the "feature presentation."

Peep 07-26-07 10:12 AM

Yeah, that makes sense. Weird assumption on my part. Sorry.

Hey Guys,

Yeah, I show trailers to other films before a Feature presentation, not the trailer for the movie we're about to watch. I would never do that. :)

My set up is I have two dvd players hooked up to my projector and receiver.
I show a trailer on one and then switch over to the other dvd player with the Feature disc in it. I use an RF smart remote to do the switching. It works pretty good actually.

Thanks for the trailer info Patrick McCart.

Hmm...I....Like that idea. I'm not sure why I jumped to the conclusion that you were viewing the trailer of the movie! I may try that next time.
