I never responded back after I first watched this set...mine did have the same problems as everyone else's. (The tv I watch my DVD's on has a dark picture so was hard to tell a problem was there)

My question is how long does it take to get a response from Sony after you e-mail them? I just sent mine and would like to see others response time they encountered. Also to bloomcounty, what shipping did you use to get such a fast return?...was it just normal shipping?

I just e-mailed them, and I'll let you all know how fast/slow things go with me.

And special thanks to bloomcounty for keeping this going 'til Sony listened!

I haven't read the whole thread but I have a quick question. I just got my return email with my authorization number. Do you mail both or just the movie disc back to them?

I emailed them too, and they told me to send just the defective disc to them. Got a whole new set nine days later.

My email;

I have just bougt the Dracula 2 disc Collectors
Edition DVD and upon watching it, I have noticed that
the transfer is much muddier than the standard
version. Also there is bad pixelation at the start of
each chapter when I skip through the chapers. And also
the beginning of chapter 17 does stick in several
stops, forcing me to press stop and play several times
just to work past it.

Upon searching the internet about this problem, I
have found out that others have/had this problem as
well and have contacted you about it, and the issue is
being resolved.

Who do I contact about sending my disc in for a
corrected one?

Thier reply;

Thank you for your email. We appreciate your interest in Sony Pictures
Home Entertainment (SPHE) products.

The Title you requested information for is not a Sony Pictures Home
Entertainment Title. Please consult the Internet Movie Data Base at
www.imdb.com for the "official" name of the Studio and/or Production
Company. Kindly direct your queries to the correct Studio and/or Production
Company office directly.

Please stay tuned to http://www.sonypictures.com or the website
http://www.imdb.com/ for additional information regarding upcoming Sony
Pictures Home Entertainment releases.

new in store!

Thank you for your continued patronage of Sony Home Entertainment
Products and for taking the time to contact us.

My reply to that;

The Bram Stroker's Dracula 2 disc Collectors Edition
IS a Sony title. The Sony Pictures Home Entertainment
stamp is on the back and the side of the slipcase. As
well as on each disc.

Now to wait another day to see what they have to say next.

They might be referring American Zoetrope handling the disc themselves instead of Sony.

Honest mistake, or trying to pull a fast one?

It seems that many people (including myself) are having a bit of an off day. So i'll call it an honest mistake

I notice that in your original email you just call the DVD "Dracula," which could lead someone to think you were referring to the 2-disc Dracula DVD release from Universal:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000GPIPSS/

In your second email you refer to it by it's more commonly used name of "Bram Stoker's Dracula."

So I'm thinking honest mistake as well.

I was thinking about that as I was typing my 2nd email actually upon realizing how many "Dracula" movies there are. Which is what made me be very specific on the title.

Though I thought common sense would let them know I was talking about the Bram Stroker one, but I guess they have to be careful and specific to avoid any misdirections on anyones part.

Follow up:

I sent in disc 1 of the Bram Strokers Dracula 2 disc CE set to get the new remastered version. My letter was clearly worded and everything, and today I just recieved this from them.

"Thank you for contacting Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, Enclosed you will find youre remastered copy of 'The Fifth Element' on Blue-ray."

#1. I sent them a 'Bram Strokers Dracula disc - standard dvd at that.

#2. I stated in the letter that I would like a remastered replacement of 'Bram Strokers Dracula - standard DVD"

Now how is that not clear enough to where they send me a remastered blue ray dvd of the 5th element?

That is not the movie I asked for, nor do I have a blue ray dvd player. So off to the post office I go now for try #2.

It's Bram Stoker, not Stroker.

T is right next to R on the keyboard. It's not possible that he has pudgy fingers and hit TR when trying to hit T?

Actually, I have slender fingers. Though I will admit that my typing can be sloppy at times and I am certian that with my frustration, I just wasnt worried about proper typing structure with venting on the board here.

As far as this thread goes, I will end it here until I get my return mail from Sony. Which hopefully will have the correct DVD in it this time

He's lucky they didn't sent him an 'adult' DVD.

Haha, I was just being a smartass anyway. I'm sure you're right, although I've noticed it's a common mistake.
