Sopranos. When?

Any ideas when the final part of the Sopranos will be on DVD? I did do a search, so please don't jump on me. Thanks!

Theres a news bit on tvshowsondvd.com. In it, according to USA Today, Season 6 Part 2 will be released sometime in October, but its not official yet.

And, of course, the complete series is tentatively expected in Dec.

Last I heard this would be December/Holiday of 2008, though.

I'm biting my fingernails already before the complete series release 'cos I've spent a lot of money for each season. So if the box will be good-looking I doubt I'll be able to endure this. And regarding the final episodes - well, I guess they'll release it as usual - what, 4-5 months after it finished on TV?

 I've never seen an episode so I'll be all over that baby.

Hopefully by Dec 08 we get the whole the series on one of the next gen formats

I was just about to post the exact same thing. The Blu-ray of the most recent release looks fantastic (as I'm sure the HD DVD does as well).

Yeah, I've been hearing about a complete series a la "sex and the city" "six feet under" coming out Holiday 2008 on Standard and Blu-Ray (and I'd assume HD as well). Supposedly their working on 2 discs of extra content :).

A complete series set on HD would probably cost more than a heart transplant. Time to start saving for both... just in case.

I would estimate probably $599.99, or $499.9...

But I doubt HBO is going to release seasons 1-5 in HD in standalone sets, if they go a 'complete series'...

Isn't it a bit too much? I'd guess around $400-450 although this also will be astronomical. I can't recall another box-set costing that much and what do they think - that they'll be able to effect good sales with that price?

MSRP of $299.99 and on sale for $224.99, I bet.

Yeah it's kinda steep even for an HBO release. Even the complete Six Feet Under series doesn't go as near as that.

This looks much more realistic to me.

Well, Star Trek Next Generation is still $370 (Voyager is still $700 :wtf: ), so it wouldn't surprise me to see The Sopranos for > $400. Especially if it is HD.

rfduncan 07-13-07 10:26 AM

This is the last HBO set I'm collecting and now I wonder if I even care. :(

PixyJunket 07-13-07 10:49 AM

Sopranos Complete in HD for $300 would be a wet dream.

That's kind of sad considering it's still $300.. but for what they freaking charge for the single sets..

The Sex in the City set retails for $200, and that's 96 episodes. I could easily see a sub-$300 release day price for the 86 Sopranos eps.

I just hope they do more than repackage the season sets...I want some new bonus content with retrospectives, commentary, something on the huge pop culture phenomenon of the final episode, etc.

But Sex and the City were each around 30 minutes; Sopranos were each around an hour.

I yet have to see the second part of the 6th season so - is it really that huge?

No. It just made the news the first week after the finale because people were so ticked off at how it ended.

My brother already watched it and was ticked off also. But I only heard some distant thunder regarding the final episode - since I don't want to know anything about it before I watch it myself, I forbade my brother to tell me a single thing about it and even avoided any discussions on imdb forums :)

I'm so bummed that the two parts of S6 is to freakin' expensive. What are the odds of a bit of a drop when the complete series comes around? Can anyone recall if this happened with Sex and the City?
