I'm very interested. Absolutely can't wait, as a matter of fact. NO IDEA where I'm going to scrape together that kind of cash, but heck yeah I'm interested.

Well people, tomorrow is the day. And if you are a Borders memeber this just got even better. There is a coupon going round now for 40 percent off box sets good for today and tomorrow only. What this mean is that if your Borders has this set tomorrow, then you should only have to pay $180 for it. Thats $30 better than the Amazon price.

Mine came in as well. This is an amazing set....I'm totally blown away at the size and weight. When the UPS guy handed me the box, I almost dropped it because the mass of the package was so surprising.

Also, for what it is worth, the "Young Mr. Lincoln" Disc is the first dvd from the two-disc criterion release. I knew that CC had the rights from Fox, but I did not realize that they would be packaging the exact same disc into this set.

I already own the Criterion edition of YML, so I guess I'll try to sell just the first disc on ebay. I would like to keep the packaging, booklet, and second disc for completionist sake. No need to have two copies of the same Criterion film though.

Ditto! This set is a beast. Easily, one of the best sets to ever be released in my opinion.

Not that it matters or anything, but I'd really like to hear what Roger Ebert has to say about this set.

Roger Ebert's head exploded when his set came in the mail. No more comments from him.

I did the same thing when I picked it up at Best Buy yesterday, holy crap it is heavy! I didn't buy it (not for full retail, thanks!), but I was just checking it out. What a beautiful set. I have no idea where I'd put the damn thing, but it would be very nice to have. Probably get it the next time it's 50% off, I'll likely plan for a BN membership next year and wait for a 50%off coupon.

I wonder why they used these odd rubber spindles to hold the disks in place. They are really difficult to get the disks off them and then get them back on. i would have preffered a different design.

I agree...I'm afraid of breaking a disc every time I remove it, and am never sure if it has been re-attached correctly. That being said, I am only six films in, but I am in love with this set! Really a thing of beauty. Hopefully enough people purchased it to warrant similar sets from Fox in the future.

They have the following message below posted over at Foxclassics.com for the Ford at Fox set. Someone over at Hometheaterforum claims there is going to be a special offer to get another Ford film the Frontier Marshall which was in the Essential John Ford Collection but not included in the Ford at Fox box.

Awesome, I heard the rumor but didn't think it would actually (possibly) happen.

Pedant mode; 'Frontier Marshall' is an Allan Dwan film; Ford used the same script as the basis for 'My Darling Clementine' but with very different results.

I just received my set in the mail and it's massive. If my dad isn't completely moved by this Christmas gift, I'm not sure what'll move him.

He's been a huge John Ford fan forever and I'm hoping I'm the only one that thought to buy this behemoth of a set. He'll love it.

Now....to buy my own copy, hmmmm
