Doesn't look like it based on this press release. And if the fake trailers/bumpers were on there, I bet they would have mentioned them as extras. Still, I guess we'll just wait and see what actually is included when these discs come out. I do like the cover art for both, that's for sure.
I'm actually not too disappointed about these specs, either, even though I only want the original GRINDHOUSE version and will most likely skip both of these. Since it looks like the fake trailers are being left off and whole original concept is being ignored for these releases, that probably means the speculation is true that Weinstein is planning an eventual release of the proper GRINDHOUSE down-the-line. Otherwise, why not include those fake trailers as extras now? So the initial bad news may be good news in the long run.

I've got some answers:
Steelbook is US only - no Canada
Steelbook will contain a bonus disc - unsure of extra feature
Only the machete trailer will be included - no others
DTS - maybe but probably not
Hddvd or blu ray towards the end of the year.. Did not specify format
There will be a serarate release of both movies later on - these will be theatrical cut

I loved both of these films, so i don't know what my strategy will be here. As the Kill Bill fiasco prooves, we may end up waiting a couple years for these to be brought together in one package.

I'm slightly less upset after seeing the specs and cover art for both releases. I almost prefer the art on the keep cases to the steelbooks, but I'm definitely getting the steelbook for both of these. I can live without watching the whole thing as it was in theaters, but I really would like them to release it sometime down the line. It doesn't even have to have any extras, just give me the film anamorphic with DTS and I'm happy.

From what I was told, only machete will be included as far ad trailers go.
Will go check for confirmation of this and find out if there will be individual releases of the theatrical cuts.
I'll try to check back in here in a little while if anyone has any questions.
For now, its trejo time!

final answer on the grindhouse DVD's:
Only machete will be on planet terror. None will be on deathproof. The rest may be on a double feature set but it hasn't been decided yet.
The double feature will be the theatrical cuts and they're being planned as a set only - no individual theatrical cut releases.

I didnt get info on whether it would be 1 or 2 discs for the Theatrical Cut but I really don't see it being a single disc due to the length of it. My guess is it would cut at the Intermission but I'll ask tomorrow to make sure. Maybe a flipper disc?
They did state that there are no plans to release the theatrical cuts separately, but if they are on individual discs, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense (unless the double feature sells at a normal disc price of around $20).

Just got a bit more info..
Grindhouse will be their first blu ray title
they tried HDDVD already but it sounded as if they werent too impressed with the sales.
The double feature:
unsure if it will be 1 disc - it is the theatrical cut and if it can fit on one disc they will release it that way - they just don't want to compromise the quality
I was told that it would likely be a flipper if it doesn't fit on one side.
No plans to release each theatrical cut individually but they may based on demand for it.

Thanks for all this info, Spider. I still hope the theatrical cut can fit on one side for the future release.

I really hope BB decides to run some special deal selling the two steelbooks together for cheaper than buying both separately. I am sure most people are going to be getting both regardless, so why would they not want to capitalize on that idea?
