They're probably covered under homeowners' policy, but as mentioned earlier it's a good idea to have a list and pictures in case someone doubts you really owned 20K DVDs.

Well, I have DVD Profiler on my desktop computer and on my laptop (updated regularly) along with its online listing, and I also keep them listed at iTrackMine.com as a secondary line of defense (so to speak) where I can print a property loss report any time I need to, so hopefully I have my bases covered.
Edit: I took pictures to put in the DVD Collection Pics thread, I still have them on my PC although I need to update them since I had to add another bookcase...

CDs were covered under my homeowner's policy around 15 years ago when someone stole moving boxes packed with them from the garage. I did not need a separate rider. I think it varies by insurance company.
