I have, in the golden envelope:
10 The old train car
16 Truman & Cooper
20 Some guy with coloured lens glasses
23 Laura's mum
25 Laura in black lodge
29 Audrey
37 Assistant sheriff guy
43 The tall man handing something to Cooper
47 Laura's autopsy
52 Cooper with coffee
53 Shelly
57 A chess game
I'm after slip cases I think - especially the new The Shining, 2001, Clockwork orange; The Proposition, Duel , Airplane! special Edition, Bullitt special Edition

Long time bump...
So I got the Gold box. Obviously after that I should be watching 'Fire Walk with Me'...but should I get the Region 1 DVD version or another one? I'm a total newb with Twin Peaks and want to know the perfect way to watch it.

And to avoid spoilers I don't want to read the thread...but should I watch the US or International Pilot? Or should I watch both and then continue on with the series or...

Watch the US version first. Watch the international after you finish the series.

Have fun, you're in for quite a ride.

Season 1
Season 2
Fire Walk With Me
In that order.
The "European" ending to the pilot is a curiosity, nothing more. You can save that until you've finished with everything else. Some of the that footage wound up incorporated into later episodes, and its conclusion contradicts other events.

One more tip: The show goes through a lull in the 2nd season. Stick with it. It picks up again. You need to watch the entire series to understand Fire Walk With Me.

Really any Twin Peaks is good, especially considering how short-lived it was. Yes some plotlines are pretty poor and uninteresting, but every episode has some really good things going on.
Just let go of the plot elements and enjoy the setting and characters and the unique feeling that no other series has. Treat the mysteries as the extra bits to entice you to keep watching, just don't expect answers, and the answers you do get usually aren't what you want or expect anyway.

Will do.
Another Q...is Fire Walk With Me only available in a snapper case?
As for the lull...I'll be watching likely 2-3 discs a night so the lull won't be more than a night for me (thankfully).

They repackaged it in a keepcase a few years back with a nice insert.
I wonder how well the Gold Box did in sales. I always assumed that if it did well, MK2 would have released a new edition of Fire Walk with Me with the excised material. I doubt that stuff will ever see the light of day now.

My advice would be to never watch FWwM. Twin Peaks was amazing series, one of my top ten of all time, but the film was a total piece of crap.

Ok, I'll have to pick that up. Hate the snappers.

More power to you if you can stand it, but I'm not alone. Not that other's opinions matter, but film critics generally hated it, a score of 28% on metacritic, and most audiences didn't like it either.
I loved the series, expected to love the film, but wow, some of the worst dialogue and delivery of that dialogue that I could even imagine, let alone see in a film. I felt like they did a rehearsal, with the actors reading the dialogue for the first time, and Lynch said "that's a wrap".

(Bought FWWM for $4-$5 from the Wal-Mart cheap bin a few years back, and was wondering if it would be worth the upgrade to get the insert and keepcase packaging. Hm - I might just be insane...)

So will the US Pilot ever be released separately over here? I've got the crappy import, but financially I couldn't justify re-buying Seasons 1 & 2 just to replace the pilot. (I did at least rent the Gold Box disc with the bulk of the extras. Great stuff!)
